Always massively low MPG as soon as it gets urban. My 328i cab used to be in the low 20's if I was pottering about town.

E90 2006 335D auto (obviously) - 32mpg... I'd like to blame town driving but I think its the novelty of the torque after only owning the car for 2 months.

09 E90 335i Manual - so far I've filled up 3 times. The first was 21mpg the second was 26mpg.
Both are mixed but mainly town with the odd longer motorway journey.

2010 E90 LCI 320d M Sport (184) manual
51.3mpg combined. Mixed driving (8 motorway miles in my 21 mile commute each way). Lots of start/stop which is where the efficient dynamics comes in handy. 75-80mph on motorway. |

I drive from work to home 5 miles each way, On board computer shows 35mpg, As car does not get chance to get stretched, But on motorway it shows up 62Mpg, I guess which is not bad at all...... |

2009 (59) 330D Auto (242bhp) on 63000 miles.
Only owned it for the last 800 miles. Reset everything after first day and computer currently shows 38mpg average. Highest I have had this is 40mpg. I do a 25 mile (each way) commute 5 days per week, over 60% motorway. However I also do frequent short (1-5 mile) journeys around town/visiting family. I'm quite happy with this level of consumption as I like to enjoy the cars power as soon as its up to temperature. For comparison, my previous remapped 2008 Vauxhall Astra 1.9 CDTI (150bhp) returned 44mpg average over the exact same journeys. |

I've used 'Road Trip' app to log every fill-up, since its purchase in Sept 2013. The tank's been filled to ensure accuracy. Driving has been been approx 70% motorway (sensible speeds, because on the M25 & M1 there's no option and the rest on A roads and some semi-urban conditions. Genuine >45mpg on standard diesel. Note fuel price fluctuations from Sept 2013 to July 2015. |

'06 E90 320D M-sport Manual. Average around the 45mpg mark, most of the time, mix of approximately 100 miles on the motorway a week, 75 miles fast A-roads/dual carriageways, and about 20 miles town driving. That's a guesstimate of what I am doing each week.

09 E91 330d LCI Auto - Averaging 40.3 with 5 mile commute and 2 or 3 long motorway journeys per week. I was getting 39.7 overall from 325d saloon auto (non LCI) on same journeys so considering extra weight and more power I'm really happy!

E90 LCI 330d M Sport Manual with 39k - 44mpg/45mpg
I'm very impressed... I've probably done around 400-500 miles since buying the car and I've hit 130+ at least 3 times, the rest of the time I crawl along at 72mph |

330 d m sport manual pre-lci mixed driving A roads and motorways but no heavy town traffic 38 mpg is my weekly average...
Mines running a DTUK Box though which makes it more fun.. Manuals definitely improve the Mpg by quite a bit on the 330's. |

E93 is very heavy on fuel though. I only managed 22mpg from the one I was lent, I used to get 28mpg from my Touring doing the same runs at the time.
The other thing is every single BMW I have owned that is diesel has been between 9-22% over optimistic on the OBC. My current X3 said 46mpg, actual calculated is 38, I had to adjust it 21% to get it to be spot on. Not sure why the diesels over read where as the petrols have been spot on in this regard or even under read slightly? |
