Beautiful sunny but cold day. My BF just left for Halifax before the storm hits the area. My Mum and I will start un-decorating slowly and getting ready for our New Years hot tub party.

Hot tub party? Outside hot tub? In the freezing rain? I'm turning blue just thinking about it!

High tides and big waves! Closing down the pier to protect the public from themselves. 10-15 feet waves, sets up to 20. Reminds me of this from the way-back machine: that's Denis peaking over the railing

We are heading up to the cabin Friday, there are reports of dustings of snow all weekend.

Flaky white stuff coming down outside. Temps are going to stay above freezing and it's supposed to change over to rain later, so there should be no shoveling involved.

Has been rainy for what seems like a month straight. 3 weeks ago we had 4 inches of rain then the next weekend we had 3.5 inches and this week I think it's been another inch. Crazy if it was snow but it's cold wet rain that normally falls in November and now falls in December.

We had just over 1.5" of rain here from the coastal storm and front that just passed. The temperatures have stayed pretty steady in the 40's F both day and night, thanks to the fog and low clouds.

Down at the tree farm in SC, the same storm system dumped over 2.3" of rain according to my remote weather station and kept day/night temps in the 60's F.....

We had a good dumping overnight and it still snowing. The plow left a nice snowbank in front of my laneway. I'm sure the X3 could jump over but I don't want to risk damaging the front lip. My contractor is probably going to show-up today.

We had a good dump of snow for our New Year's eve hot tub party after a green Christmas which allowed us to do the snow angel challenge in our swimsuits.

Taking Mum to the airport shortly for her flight back home.

Snow started falling on Saturday (at the cabin, 7000') ending up with about 2-3" by the time it quite. Temps were around 32 for Saturday, dropping down to 27 when the skies cleared. And still, I was mostly in jeans and T-shirt, since active.

Today, back at home in 50, jeans, shirt, alpaca jacket, and still chilly, sitting on my a-behind.

Cherry Blossoms start blooming in Jan 2, 2024. If you wonder where I live. I live in Vancouver, Canada. The warmest winter since 80+ years ago.

Wet, windy, and 60 with big waves on the way.

I ended up driving the 77 Beetle this week so far, since wife's car is in the body shop. Big jackets and motorcycle gloves, the wind blows thru that 77 constantly, right in my face. I've tried and tried to seal those boot vents, to no avail.

Above average by a few degrees above freezings point.

Apparently we are in for a dramatic change overnight with snow on its way for tomorrow afternoon.
