I broke the f$%^#g windshield.
The rubber gaskets around the windshield and back glass were showing their age and needed to be replaced. I had ordered the gaskets - top gasket of windshield and the three sided gasket for the back glass. Watched a couple of youtube videos and read up on the DIY threads. So I was ready ! ! ! Unfortunately the last guy to replace the windshield (cracked due to me catching a rock) reused the upper gasket and glued it on to the windshield. Like he really glued it well. It did not want to come off. In my zeal to coerce the gasket out, I stressed the edge of the glass and ... Viola, a $400 f-up. So the car is at the glass shop now getting a new windshield. Some DIYs save you money; others teach you expensive lessons.

So right before winter, that nail happened...had to take my summers off and put winters on....and now given that the cold weather is gone here in STL, went back to summer mode, new Michelin PSS rears and aggressive map back on. The car drives way better and no more noisy winter

Yesterday, a warning for the brakes came on so I took it to the mechanic to get it diagnosed to see what needed to be replaced. It ended up just being the sensor, so I decided to just replace it myself. Today, we had a massive storm in CA and all of a sudden, random electronics started malfunctioning in my car. The locks no longer worked, the horn didn't work, and I got a slew of errors on the speedo screen. I parked in the garage to replace the brake sensor and was disturbed by what I saw. The mechanic had ripped the brake sensor clip leaving an exposed hanging wire. My guess is that the rain shorted out some components on my car through the exposed wire (or maybe it all went wrong coincidentally). I simply had to replace fuse 57 and 16. Thankfully it was just a fuse rather than the door actuators. Never going to that mechanic again!

Flashed MHD-1
Originally had it, but was misfiring on #3 so went back to stage 0. After spark plug change, and vanos solenoid cleaning, put MHD-1 back on. Woooohoooo! So much better! No misfires! Waaaay more power! Rear end was trying to get out in front, just pulls and pulls, big improvement.

Got a second alignment on the E91. Once I bagged it, took it to a reputable shop to do an alignment, but wasn't very happy with how it rode. The car still pulled right, and steering wheel was a bit off centered, steering felt very loose. Took it to a sears automotive center today with low expectations, but they realigned the car and I was very surprised with the outcome. Car drove straight, steering wheel dead center, and more importantly, car regained a heavier steer.

Finally got the water pump and thermostat in. Luckily in the military we have auto skills centers. $6 an hour to use a lift.
