Ok guys... I think I'm (almost) there.

Im running on a Mac with VM ware and Windows XP.

Its all installed. Only problem is while following the DIY guide I get to the point of creating profiles etc.

Im missing the F4 button. Anyone have any ideas? Here are two messages im getting.

Also Im missing the FA line as you can tell from the pics. Im not sure if this has something to do with it.

Looks like you are reading the CAS and not the KOMBI which is were digital speed is located.

Yes, but you need additional files besides BMW Standard Tools 2.12 -- see my DIY.

OK perfect. Now the DIY makes sense to me since I have Standard tools installed. Now I am installing INPA-EDIABAS full English Edition from then link provided and ill go from there (3 hour download). Thanks for everything.

Hi,

Just as the title suggested, I'm hoping I can find someone who will for a nominal fee register my battery. I just learned about the ^%$#&$# stupid BMW battery scheme so I am out to get it replaced but don't feel like taking it to the man and getting ripped off.

I'm hands on kind of guy but don't have the cable to do it. On the note is there a $50 dollar cable that actually works or are they all a lot more?

My car in question is a 2009 3 series. Thanks!

okay im officially losing my mind!

im sure i've come across a different list of codes than the one supplied on this thread but i cant find it anymore. the specific strings of code im looking to change are:

- disabling the "accept" screen on idrive upon starting car

- enabling the video / tv while driving

im sure i've seen the above codes for a bmw e90.

does anybody know the string / line of text i should be looking for to change??

LEGAL_DISCL - to disable accept screen

To active DVD/TV motion you need to dig in prg file, what is more complicated, but doable.

I just learned about the ^%$#&$# stupid BMW battery scheme so I am out to get it replaced but don't feel like taking it to the man and getting ripped off. I'm hands on kind of guy but don't have the cable to do it. On the note is there a $50 dollar cable that actually works or are they all a lot more? My car in question is a 2009 3 series. Thanks!
