Does the dash actually indicate reduced power?

Did they give you a part number for the "intake silencer"?

Do you have any interest in DIY? Plugs are pretty easy, only about $100 in parts.

19's? They actually run in the mid $300s most local places. A little better at tire rack right now (see attached).

If you're doing a full set you can consider swapping to non-runflats (cheaper/better ride) but you don't have a spare.

Thanks guys! I did a little research and went out and looked. Charge Pipe blew out. Sounds like this is common. Any recommendations for better aftermarket?

And yes, when you get on it to the point where the turbos would normally kick in, on the dash says "engine malfunction-reduced power"

Depends on your plans for the car. You currently have two diverter style valves. After market CPs are available in the OEM setup, blowoff valve setups, meth bung options, etc.

That will happen when you have boost leak to atmosphere (like your broken CP). Should go back to normal once you replace the CP and clear the codes.

Thanks Gator! I don't intend to heavily mod the car just yet, maybe except for some easy stuff. I just don't know enough yet. I'm not afraid of DYI at all, and can handle most non technical service and maint. Codes are another story. How would I clear those? I will replace with an aftermarket OEM style because I just called the dealership and they want $422 for the same POS that just blew.

I have a BMW specific scanner so I'm not 100%, but I would assume that the same boost pressure code has a standard OBDII equivalent and could be cleared with a cheap standard scanner (or even for free by the guys at Autozone).

Realoem.com will give you access to all part numbers specific to your car (enter your vin). Using those part numbers you can find discount sources for new and used OEM parts all over the web. I've been using ECStuning for the majority of my purchases.

The OEM upper charge pipe is $285 new there: https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E92-33....0L/ES1599230/

Some aftermarket options to explore: Cobb, Evolution Raceworks, BMS, ETS.

You can run the stock diverter valves if you're not planning on really upping power. If you're going to increase boost levels significantly, most guys go to a stronger aftermarket valve that won't leak at the increased pressure.

Lol dont go to that dealer anymore...for anything especially b/c its not under warranty. They are very inept and ripping you off at the same time. DIY's on this forum are superb.

Just google n54 charge pipes, most common are probably the ER or even VRSF to keep your stock DV's. I have Cobb's and yes most everyone has had issues with fitment for some reason, but I didn't and upgraded to the Turbosmart dual ports dv/bov which can be setup to recirc. or vta and maintain the stock DV placement. For the codes aspect I still suggest you get MHD to read/clear codes at the least, but really you should get the stage 1 tune (and can use the burble option ) and a K&N filter after you replace your CP. From there its just a FMIC and DP's then you're basically FBO b/c our iS exhaust is free flowing enough. You would be more than happy with the stage 1 tune though!

Thanks to all, guys! Steep learning curve for me when it comes to turbos and mod'ing. But I'm mechanically inclined, so I'll catch up. In my research so far, I think I'm leaning towards the ER. Was going to go with Cobb, but read too many reports about fitting, even from a dealer. No need for meth, but wouldn't mingled the option of beefing up the blow offs maybe later. So, plan to go OEM ER to start with. For the same price as BMW Sh!t plastic, I can have something more permanent. The OEM resource is great, maybe just not for this part.

Next would be the air filters. I'm looking at Burger. Maybe then the Stage 1. One question though. After I replace the CP,will I need to reset the codes to get the car to run properly?

Funny to hear your dealer story. I've had an 03 330 since new in 03, and the only shop I've taken it to was the alignment shop after warranty. I hate them!

Thanks for propping me up! I was really bummed out last night. Thought I blew out the turbos. I know - rookie!

ER is really nice but BMS makes a nice CP as well.

If it goes on easier than the Cobb, I would pay the extra $$. Otherwise I changed my mind to go with the Cobb.

Nice launches, Ad!

How do you like the Burger air filters? Do you see the gains that they claim?

Hey guys, first time BMW owner but a long time lurker of this forum. I purchased a low mileage 2011 335is last October and figured I say hey. I have read a ton of great builds on here and also a there are a ton of people with a ton of knowledge in here it seems. As I'm not ignorant to the search feature you shouldn't see and dumb questions from me that have already been asked a thousand times and answered in other threads.

My 335is

Hi all. Picked up my '13 335is a year ago last March. Love it and, like others have said on the forum, love just riding around with the windows down and music low listening to the car.

I do like that car in red, which is not typically a color I like on cars. This last weekend I saw a red 335is on black TE37s in San Diego. That matched with the black trim looks pretty good. Clean car man.
