Coded the crap out of my car!!!!!
Used NCSExpert with BMW coding tool and NCS Dummy to do a whole lot....... 1) disabled driver no seatbelt chime 2) disabled passenger no seatbelt chime 3) set fog lights to turn on with standing lights and running lights so I don't have to do it manually. 4) Increased lock while moving speed from 10 to 20 MPH 5) Added digital speed readout to cluster 6) Activated comfort closing - all windows and sunroof by holding remote button 7) Activated automatic folding mirrors with comfort closing 8) Changed automatic folding mirror delay from 1.5 seconds to "instant" 9) Coded fog lights to stay on with High Beams 10) Coded fog lights to stay on with flash high beams 11) Disabled i-drive legal disclaimer (on wife's BMW) 12) coded all doors unlock with single press of remote, instead of 1 for driver and 2 for the rest 13) coded Activate rear fog lights with welcome lights 13) coded Unlock doors automatically with key removal 14) coded trunk to release even if car locked 15) coded trunk to release with short press of remote not long press 16) coded remote buttons to work while remote inserted in ingnition Just getting started!!!

Ghetto jack stand adapters
My jack pads were mangled by the previous owner. I've been using 1" square steel tubing (from Home Depot Motorsports) as adapters for my jack stands but it's a pain as they don't stay in place. To address this I glued a neodymium magnet to the inside of each pad so that it holds the steel tubes in place and the result is pictured above. The magnets were salvaged from old hard drives: Last edited by The Nightman; 03-17-2017 at 06:44 PM.. |

Did front brake pads, about 2 months ago with Textar pads with turned rotors and new wear sensor, and unfortunately they never stopped squeaking. So just re-did them with the oem BMW pads and perfect now without any noice. That's what I get for going cheap I guess! I was on the fence about these or the Hawk HPS but wife likes the instant bite with oem so took this route.
Set for another 50k miles or so, and likely karma after being a bit too proud that my full front brake job cost me under $100 first time around!

Went to a service clinic today. They couldn't find any problems, and I got to play around with a 7 series. The technology in it is absolutely ridiculous. With your car parked, you get a Google Street view look of your own car and the surroundings, and you can pan around with gestures in the air. It's absolutely ridonc.
