Well i ordered Nov 25th as well. Might be stuck at some random customs check point. But you should be getting it very soon.

Cause your using the wrong driver, but if it works fine then it doesn't matter.

Do you know whether I can program (enable) the 6-CD Changer feature without actually having the device?

If so, can someone kindle share the coding required. Thx

(I am planning to install the Dension 500 Gateway which requires this feature enabled)

Yes, you can. I just did this myself with the Dension500. You just follow the VO guide:

and add $672 (6-CD changer option) to the VO. You may need to add +KMP3 too if you've got an older iDrive.

Those that have done the halogen headlight to xenon headlight swap, have you tried coding it into the system as opposed to just disabling the cold checks etc?

Disabling the checks won't do much as the car still thinks the car has halogen lights. I was reading some post over at bimmerpost for older generation cars where they coded the car to tell it that xenons are installed.

They then disabled the self leveling feature. I think this is how the coding should be done and would be more oem style.

Has anyone tried it this way yet?

I knew how to code even before xxxjecxxx posted this thread. I was already coding my car 5 months back...
It was much harder because you had not much information to work with and it wasn't simplified for me.

But yes, donate to xxxjecxxx for spending his time to teach you guys

This was possible on my VWs and Audis and yeah, it IS the cat's a$$. That was great in case you forgot the roof open and didn't drive the car for a while.

On another note, I'm intimately familiar with the Ross-Tech VCDS tool for VWs and Audis and I'm seriously considering going with the setup from this thread to be able to do some basic coding for my car.

I have a '08 1-series and I've seen in this thread that the software referenced in this thread will work. Do you pick 'E89' for the 1-series as well??

Following the DIY and got to step 9 that talks about the COM1 port. Here's a screenshot and as you can see, I have no COM1 port. Any ideas? This is with Windows 7 32-bit, by the way.

The last step in the pdf says '2nd control unit must be coded. The 1st ECU is CAS. What is the 2nd one?

Anyone has a list of the VO definitions?

What is the VO for OEM Alarm?

Plug your cable into your PC/Laptop and reopen the device manager, you should then see your port.
