Input Files

• The Key Generator will auto-detect and accept either Base64 (Text) or binary FSC file inputs, as well as the file type (1B or NBT). (You can over-ride the detection setting, using the "CIC/NBT" radio buttons).

Support Files

• The Key Generator will download and use the most recent copy of the BMW "Lookup.xml" file for key generation parameters. In Linux and Windows, this file is stored in the same directory as the Key Generator. For OSX, it is stored in ~/Downloads/

• The RSAKeys.txt file keeps a copy all submitted RSA keys. The Generator will download and use the most recent copy of the file. In Linux and Windows, this file is stored in the same directory as the Key Generator. For OSX, it is stored in ~/Downloads/

Unsupported Feature

• It appears that the key stored in the "FSC" file pulled from the car is not necessarily unique to the car, but may be shared across multiple cars built within a short time window.

If you would like to help out, and have pulled your FSC file, please send me a copy. I will not include or publish any car-specific information, but will add the FSC file date and RSA key to the RSAKeys.txt file. Hopefully if enough are gathered, some people will be able to create an FSC for their car, without having to pull any files.

                  Example ./BMW_CIC_FSC_Generator_Console FILE.fsc 0x28 0x0A
          FILE.fsc - 319 byte hex OR BASE64 encoded version of hex
          TYPE     - 1 or 2 bytes representing the map type

Hi Guys,

I would like to update the navi maps of an e84 (x1), prod. date 01/2010 with a factory CIC mid.
The last update we did in this car was in 2017 - europe motion 2017-1 - over the usb port within the glove box.

The first issue was, that I am not able to get connected with the car by ENET. Via OBD/USB, everything works fine.

The "USB script method" does only work with CIC prof, but not with the mid version as far as I understood.

On the other side I still have a fsc for the motion 2020-1 version and therefore, I thought I give it a try... but unfortunately, the update assistent doesnt start when I am plugging in the usb stick.

I tried a few USB sticks with diff. sizes and formats.
As far as I know from the previous updates (diff. e-series cars), the USB stick needs to be formatted in FAT32 and should have at least 8/16 GB.

I can do what I want, nothing happens...
After copying, etc. I decided to let the car go to sleep mode (15 min. +).
Unfortunately, it is still the same.
I see the USB stick is blinking, but nothing happens on the cid.


My questions are:
Is there a good how to "how to grap the 1b file from an e84 with cic mid" on the internet?
... and what happend with the usb port?!

I opened the map file and the hex code says 00 47 00 51.

Me too found out on a hard way that the FSC code based on VIN/Date just wont work with this generator. However, I have seen quite many folks posting their VIN digits, so someone can generate the code from the VIN?
I need the code for "Road Map EUROPE EAST Next 2021-1" and "Road Map EUROPE WEST Next 2021-1". Current one is "Road Map EUROPE Next 2014-2" (pretty old, heh).
Or still the only way is to use e-sys cable? Probably need to order that eventually.
Anyways guys, if you can help, appreciate that highly, VIN is D492505.

ROUTE FSC Codes cannot be generated.
