I placed an order on 5th of September. Luckily I was included in the Sept. quota of my dealer so i'm taking delivery next week (39/09/2005). Oh BTW I live just a stone's throw from Munich.
I passed by the dealer yesterday and was told that it is in prod'n. They gave me my chasis no already. Do you think I should start chilling the champagne already? Looking forward to post some pics in this forum.... |

For some reason, I thought it would be entertaining, or at least pass the time, to document my experience with the ordering process. Other's would call it OCD. Either way, here's what's happened to me over the past month or so:
8/18 Ordered Car. Received production number on Owner’s Circle. Scheduled for production. 8/25 Dealer: BMW production started 8/25, can't add Comfort Access. 9/2 Phone: Vehicle is in production, complete 9/9. Received VIN # 9/7 Phone: In body shop, complete 9/9 9/8 Phone: In paint shop, complete 9/9 9/9 Phone: In transit to port of exit 9/10 Phone: Production complete. Awaiting release to carrier. 9/12 Dealer: Emailed that car is built and on its way soon 9/13 Phone: Status changed back to In Transport to Port of Exit. 9/14 Phone: Vehicle is at port awaiting shipping vessel. No shipping info yet. 9/14 Owner’s Circle: Now Awaiting Transport 9/20 Phone: Car is in transit.Think it's on the NYK Auto Banner, scheduled into Port Hueneme on 10/16/05. 9/21 Owner’s Circle: En Route

Placed order last week for a 330i "Dynamic Executive" Sparkling Graphite with manual transmission, Terra leather, alu trim, Logic 7 audio and 19" Alpina Classic wheels. The Dynamic Exective package from BMW Netherlands includes sport seats, sport suspension, xenon headlights, light package, alarm system, PDC rear and some other things. First post here. I am deployed in the Army currently. Ordered my E90 from my dealer at $3,000 off of MSRP. My previous car was a 98 E36 M3 in techno-violet.
New car won't be ready until the middle of 2006 but I'm locked in with a deposit. I thought $3,000 off was a pretty good deal. Some details, 6SP, Titanium silver, black leather, aluminum trim. Luxury package, sport package, and cold weather package. Pre-wiring for Sirius and the electric rear window shade. |

Ordered an e91 325xi for week 44
In Denver, CO.
My dealer is offering $1800 off all wagons - it might be a nationwide thingy, but I took them up on it. Just ordered a 325xi touring - Alpine white with beige leather, Sport with 161 wheel upgrade (parallel 5-spoke 17"), Premium, 6-speed, Xenon, heated seats, base audio, sat wiring. Week 44 build. Ordered last week!!
E91 Touring 320D SE Sparkling Graphite Grey Leather Matt titanium trim Velour mats Headlight washer Heated Seats Rain sensor / automatic headlight control Also tested the 325i . The diesel with it's 16" tyres (petrol has 17") had a noticibly better ride and the extra torque made for easier driving. Did not like the noise of the 325i when accelerating hard. Worked out that the running cost for the 320D and 325i allowing for 12,000 miles a year and depreciation. The initial oulay of the petrol engine was over Ł800 more and would cost Ł1,000 per year more to run. Initially wanted brushed aluminium trim but dents and scratches on saloon demonstrator put me off prety guickly. Hope to have the car in early November. MikeB |

According to the dealer, it is made by 3M to fit the car and sold thru BMW. The total cost including the kit and labor is around $900. The dealer found someone who has the experience to install the kit who does not work for the dealership.

We are trying to get an E90 for my wife, and we have pretty much decided on the 325 because it weighs 130 pounds less, and doesn't have power seats standard (easy to get in and out by sliding the seats back in one quick motion). |

I had clearbra put on my E46 M3 before I drove it off the lot, and will always do that for all new cars. The only thing I would caution you is that the clearbra will yellow after time, doesn't matter what brand, and that if you have a white car, it will be noticeable. I have a yellow and a black car, so it was not an issue. If you must have a white car though, it is still worth it because I simply cannot stand to look at my car with the entire front chipped to hell by little rocks from day to day driving. |

I placed an order yesterday for a 2007 BMW 335i. I ordered it in Sparkling Graphite metallic paint with black interior and burl walnut wood trim. I ordered it with the sports package, premium package, iDrive SatNav. I'm debating whether to get 6-speed auto or manual. I placed a five hundred dollar deposit, and will pick it up in spartanburg in fall sometime.

I guess I'll add to the thread
Ordered on 01/27/06 325i SG Black 'ette Poplar Step PDC Xenons Sirius Performance Center SA flipped a 112 status, still waiting for production date, any day now (I hope). Nevertheless going through the waiting jitters and have bugged SA on several occassions on color/trim/options changes (for e.g. went from arktis to mystic to SG) Probably another 5 weeks wait plus 1-2 week for PCD?? First Bimmer, long time admirer and boards lurker Thank you to all.
