so if I'm able to pair up a non-approved cell phone (LG Venus), and it pairs up fine today (phonebook, signal strength, caller ID, etc), does that mean I shouldn't have any problems down the road?

LG Shine?
Anyone have an knowledge of pairing success of LG Shine? Tough to research when "LG" is "too short" for the search engine!
![]() Anyway, Shine looks like a pretty sweet new-ish phone from ATT (Cingular...or was that Cingular ATT, who used to be ATT that was Cingular ![]() |

Samsung Blackjack 1.
Audio Always worked in my e90, but the contact names and signal stregnth didn't. I upgraded it to the unofficial Windows Mobile version 6 and it now works better with the car. I now get all the contact information on the display, which is great, but still dont have the signal stregnth bar showing up - which is no big deal I guess. I was on the verge of getting another phone, but now there isn't a need! |

FWIW...I gave up on my BJ1 and the official WM6and upgraded to a BJ2.
Pairing was cake, and it recognizes the phone properly instead of cutting in/out like the old. Both SIM and Outlook contacts seem to transfer over as well. I only have a few so far so the real test will be when I transfer all contacts over from the old BJ1. I did notice some in call echo from my voice but it seemed to be more volume level feedback as when I lowered it, the feedback was minimized. Its only been a day so far, but it looks promising.

for anyone who wanted to know, although I may be the only person who has a Sprint mogul. I recently upgraded the firmware to 2.17, and now the phone pairs perfectly with everything working. All of my address book is downloaded too.

Not sure if it has been posted yet, but the Verizon Wireless Motorola MotoRizr Z6tv works flawlessly in my 2006 330xi.
Pairing the devices took a few minutes, but once paired everything transferred over. Name shows up on radio when making a call or receiving a call. This was on a non-I drive E90.

Pantech?
Anyone use a Pantech phone?
ATT offers the Pantech Duo and it looks like a neat phone. Curious about any possible compatibility. |

Now if only there were a way to exclude some contacts from the car's list and a better way to select between home, mobile, work, etc. numbers. |

Yes, the Pantech Duo works fine. I had one and it sync'd the contacts and worked perfectly with the 335.
The Cingular 3125 (aka HTC StarTrek) phone also works perfectly in terms of calling/syncing contacts. The only thing it doesn't do is display the signal strength bars on the iDrive screen like the Pantech did. |

I have a Sprint Mogul, which is a Pocket PC phone. Since it is my main repository for all my contact info, there are a lot of contacts that I need to keep, but don't call often (old college friends, etc.). This makes the iDrive dialing feature much harder to use because there are so many names to scroll through (plus home, mobile and work numbers for most of them) and also makes the voice dial feature less accurate because there are so many extraneous names for it to match to. Is there any way to limit which names get sent over to the car for listing in the iDrive? Ideally, I'd make a new category called "iDrive" and mark the ones that I want to be able to use in the car.
