Do you have any more pics of this car? I'm trying to decide if I like race silver or anthracite better, for EC-7's on a 2011 white e90 M sport. Also, it seems a square set up with the 9 width 18's works with the 235/55 tires, but is questionable with a 235/40 due to the extra amount of tire and the offset pushing the limits in the rear due to the LCI e90's extra rear track as compared to a pre-LCI e90? Seems like there wouldn't be to much difference other than obviously aspect ratio.....I guess it'd also create a bit more rigid ride with having 35 aspect ratio on the front's instead of 40's like the OEM tires....but would ditching run flats and going to nice Michelin PSS make up the difference in ride quality that would otherwise be lost on the lower profile?

Apex ARC-8 Hyper-black 17x9 ET:30 square
2011 E91 LCI AWD - Dual use daily driver / track toy. TCKline coilovers and CPs, lowered on VVT springs, MSI studs and lug nuts Camber f: -3 deg, r: -2 deg Tires f & r: Bridgestone RE-71R 245/40/17. No rubbing. The tires are almost finished. The next set will be 255/40/17, either RE-71R or P-Zero Trofeo R, hopefully still with no rubbing. TMS 12.5 mm front spacers added last week, to square-up the front (1525 mm) and rear (1529 mm) tracks and enhance rotation. The MSI parts are extremely well-made. I understand the function of the brightly-colored lugs (pink is also available), but the aesthetics are a little more "racer" than I prefer for a car that sees mostly street time. Why go bigger than a 17" rim? They look fantastic, weigh less, handle better, and replacement rubber costs less. Thanks to the pros at Apex for all your innovation and support. All of my contacts with Apex have been exemplary. After a year of driving on ARC-8s, I remain a fan. 16.5 lbs / rim just makes me smile. The light weight is a feature I enjoy on every drive. Forgot to describe my last interaction with Apex, around a month ago. I had to order a single replacement rim after being tapped on I-5. I expected to buy the rim and be on my way. Instead, Matt reminded me of Apex's policy on replacement rims (50% core credit), had the new rim delivered in a few days, and included packaging and a shipping label for the core return. Strong work, guys.

![]() Anthracite would be my choice on pretty much any color other than the SGM, the grays are just close enough that you notice they're different. On silver or white... amazing. I still have 'dark metal' wheel envy.

Wow that is a clean setup. Any rubbing issues and what fender work was done? Seems like aggressive offsets for LCI. Nicely done though

Thanks! No rubbing issues whatsoever at current ride height apart from slight rub on inner fender when backing up at full lock. I haven't rolled the fenders as of yet but I plan on doing so when I go a bit lower.

For an E90 LCI sedan, keep in mind that you have slightly less clearance in the rear due to the 16mm wider rear track width. This means the 18x9.5 ET35 paired with 265/35-18's will sit closer to the rear fenders then non-LCI sedans or coupes. At stock or M sport ride height, you should be fine, but if the car is lowered, you may need to roll the rear fenders or add a touch of negative camber to prevent rubbing. Dropping down to 255/35-18 is also another option for LCI E90 owners who do not want to mess with any modifications. If you would like the ability to rotate wheels and tires on all four corners, the square setup makes alot of sense, but you will be giving up some rear end grip in doing so. If you would like to maximize your rear end grip, the staggered fitment with the 265 rear tires would be a better way to go. They are both great fitments, and both present pro's and con's. For your LCI E90, you could go either way: Square Fitment: 18x9 ET30 Square - 235/40-18 tires Staggered Fitment: 18x9" ET30 - 235/40-18 18x9.5 ET35 - 265/35-18 Quote:

Hi Ryan,
Looking to get a set of 19" wheels for my pre lci 335i coupe. I am stock m sport suspension and looking to as aggressive as possible without camber plates. Would ideally prefer not to roll fender's too but if necessary I am willing. Does the 19" size make a difference to fitment possibilities over 18"? Specifically with the EC-7 in 19", what width/offset could I run successfully? Thankyou Henry Last edited by hensavage; 11-18-2016 at 06:12 AM.. |

Appreciate your interest. We have 18" and 19" options in the EC-7 design, however there a few more choices in the 18" diameter. Here are a few bolt-on 18" and 19" staggered fitments, which do not require camber or fender rolling. I have also added notes under each, which present the opportunity to run wider tires if you are willing to roll the rear fenders. ![]() 18" EC-7 Front: EC-7 18x8.5" ET35 profile 1 face - 235/40-18 Rear: EC-7 18x9.5" ET35 profile 2 face - 265/35-18 * 245/40-18 front & 275/35-18 rear is also possible, but depending on ride right height and tire brand, the rear fenders may need to be rolled. Front: EC-7 18x9" ET31 profile 2 face - 235/40-18 Rear: EC-7 18x9.5" ET35 profile 2 face - 265/35-18 * 245/40-18 front & 275/35-18 rear is also possible, but depending on ride right height and tire brand, the rear fenders may need to be rolled. I am also looking at getting a lighter rim and APEX seems to be the choice. I also love the clean look of your rims. I have an E90 pre-LCI MSport suspension. I currently have the 17" that came with the sport package and would want to stay 17" just for the sole purpose of not having to spend any extra $$$ on tires than possible. I want to also go to a square setup. These would be my second set for AutoXing only. What fitment do you recommend? |
