Im serious, Im not trying to be an ass with that comment.

Anyone with half a brain and the will to make some money is going to buy a harness, replicate it, and make a fortune on it. $150 for wires is ludacris and very easily exploitable. Guesstimating, you can turn more then 28k profit on 200 sets of wires alone.

Are you actually promoting people rip Vishnu off in Vishnu's own thread - c'mon bro $150 is a fair price to pay for the hard work these guys put into their product. Same reason I will buy an Album from a band I support, I could easily steal it, but would rather give some money to people I like. Support people doing good things and better things will probably happen.

If someone would sell nice industrially manufactured harnesses at $300 it would make the hand-made harnesses look like a steal at $150

What does Ludacris have to do with wires and why would you want to exploit a hip hop artist?

That is the current distribution model for Procede. There are no licenses for firmware. This means that it is free.

You really seem to have a problem with the 150 bucks. Pay them gladly, be happy and get a great value for the money.

FYI, Shiv wrote:
"The software update is free. There will be some cost associated with the associated v2 update harness. Not a lot though. Just basically covering our parts and construction costs. It will still work out cheaper to purchase a v1 PROcede and do the update than to wait a couple of months to purchase the v2 PROcede (which will see a price increase)."

I didn't say "software", I said "firmware". Here's what Shiv said about that:

Quote:
Upgrade price for v2 to current PROcede users will be $150. This includes the new harness, firmware, etc,.

Did Shiv say where these extra wires are going? Do they also get connected to the ECU harnesses or do they go outside of the ECU box?

He's probably going to end up in the number 1 spot to buy a v2 upgrade. That means the rest of us are competing for number 2

Cost and Firmware

It's totally irrelevant how much Vishnu makes on thier products. Talented people need to get paid and if there was no profit in this, they wouldn't have developed it in the first place. You price a product to what the market will bear, not based on the cost to produce it, and obviously the harness does not cost $150. But Vishnu spent time developing V2 and making it as idiot proof as possible and for that we're all gonna pay $150 about 21 hours from now.

As far as people ripping off the new harness, Vishnu could easily incorporate a new piece of hardware into the harness to make it nearly impossible to duplicate if they want to, and they probably will if bootleg harnesses start showing up.

Seriously though, we're not driving $10K riced-out Civics. If you can afford these cars and the mods that go with them, you can sure as hell afford $150 for V2.
