I am glad I paid 200K less for just 40hp less.
Indeed I would say it's quite seriously overpriced rather than "not cheap". My impression is that the Cabrio market targets at single young (relatively) successful businessmen/professionals who want lifestyle and an open top car which they can use for leisure (and to show off) sometime. Highly unlikely for the family market. Whilst it's not apple to apple comparison, I think these people may consider an SLK, the new Audi TT, Porsche Boxter or Cayman rather than a BMW if there were to spend this amount of money.

Just wonder if any of you have ever considered getting a GPS for your E90. Portable Multimedia Players (PMP) with built-in GPS function are now all over the market. HP has just released a new PMP with GPS and 1GB built-in memory for around HK$3288, and with Mapking installed.

I am using a bluetooth GPS (with SiRF III chipset) with my PDA phone in the car. Mapking G10 is great with faster lock-up time

Are the instructions given by Mapking accurate and reliable, and does it give you instructions well ahead?

Yes, absolutely. In HK, a 3er cab used to be fashionable only if it were a soft top; which is immediately recongnized. A RHT E93 will just look the same as a E92 Coupe; and how often do HK ppl drives opened tops? It is a bit inappropriate to have a 335i RHT, may be a 328i E93 is the most.
Driving a SLK350 (and cheaper) is more trendy and more fun.
I also have big worries about potential serious rattlings with the RHT E93, considering pretty stiff suspension on the 310hp 40kg/m car.
Guess I will stick to the wait list for the AW 135i to be full ACS mod.

Frankly, I can't say it is 100% reliable and accurate, but it is still quite convenient to have it when you are going to some new neigbourhood.

The G10 is an big improvement over the older V7 version.

You can set the program of how early to give you guidance.

M20's also using the Mapking G10 (with his O2 Atom and Holux GPS) in his E90. You can also ask him about his comment too.

Dr. DIY,
My major worry is another 'portable' device in addition to my iPOD, X50 and RR. With my poor eye sight, I would be too busy to look at these tiny LCD displays than hold my steering!

I always use the nagvigation in my 7-seater and seldom in the E90. It is because I can't find a short-arm PDA-phone holder. Most of the holder I tried will stick out too far from the windshield when used in the E90.

Actually, it is quite practical to use. I use my PDA phone (Dopod 838Pro) with the mapking nagvigation. Also, I used its voice command, voice dailing feature and speaker phone feature while driving......Somtimes talked via video call.

Also, it can be used as a Mpeg4 or WMV video player.....and watch real-time video from your 3G provider in the car too.

Lovely thought.
One of these days, I will have a proper 3G PDA Phone and I can use it for MSN with built-in web cam. In the mean time, I shall reduce portable devices in the car.

Patrick, where did you order the sunglass compartment thing (how much as well?) and is the installation troublesome - seems you needed to dismantle the cigarette plug?

N, i ordered it at Deutchland, cost was HK$170. The installation is not that difficult, just follow the DIY instructions and it took me 15 mins to install.

HK8 Photos link done

Guys, it was another joyful moment in HK8. Your all-time support and participation have been a great achievement. I really enjoyed seeing so many E90s chasing each other from No.3 HWY to Ma On Shan.
Please post your photos on this link.

Dr DIY, if that took YOU 15 mins , that's more time than replacing the blacklines, damn, you said we need instructions too - I thought it is plug 'N' Play ?
