My exact spec plus sport package. Looks good and mileage is low! Too bad it's beige inside. 🤦*♂️

How much would an E91 that originally was say pre lci awd auto non sport be worth if it was converted to lci rwd manual sport. Wonder if there's any record of this being done and sold.

I've been looking for a white M-sport, so was interested in this. For future reference, the carfax says this E91 had an accident that affected both the front and rear. The carfax also had limited maintenance history on things like the water pump, thermostat, valve cover, and oil pan. Oil and brake fluid changes seemed fine. Given the accident history, higher mileage, and limited service info, and of course the $14k price, it was a pass

Just want to also add that it has a fair amount of rust on the bolts on engine components ie. strut tower nuts, engine air filter holder bolt, etc... which is concerning, it takes alot to make these bolts/nuts that are somewhat protected to cause them to rust. I could only imagine how much rust it has on the under carriage. So for anyone interested, definitely have photos of the undercarriage take/sent to you.

Great car overall and the price is just right

If making money is the objective here, you'll struggle to break even I think. You'll get buried by the combination of the trans swap, RWD conversion, bodywork + paint, lights, etc. It might work out if you buy a cosmetically challenged car that needs paintwork/body panels anyways.

Redshift's build did most of that (but better imho). He started with an automatic xDrive LCI car though: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1662596

For what it's worth if I hang onto my pre-LCI I might go down a version of this rabbit hole. It's an 07 RWD auto Sport Package car. I bought it for under $10k, trans swap would be $5k, bumpers around $2k (I have a spare front!), LCI hood $750, and Euro pre-LCI headlights $1000 (rather than LCI so I can avoid a trunk hatch swap). I'd be into it close to $20k and the car has 125k on it.

It's probably more cost effective to buy an automatic RWD LCI that's up to date on maintenance and trans swap it. I love seeing pre-LCI colors facelifted with M Technic bumpers, though! Igor_M5 has an awesome looking build using a Gray Green (not sure of the E9X color name) pre-LCI car.

The lci tail gate isn’t too much, used. Would be worth changing that as well because they aren’t that costly.

This is what I did. I bought mine as an 07 RWD auto sport package with a stack of records and some nice mods. The manual conversion ended up being around 3500. It would have to be a great car to worth converting from awd auto to rwd manual.

Didn't mean to dog on you. But xi none sport packs are selling for around $10k, but it also depends on what's on em, and the mileage

Would love to hear more about your MT conversion. What were some of the issues (like drive shaft)? Where did you find the parts? Who did the coding? Anything you can share would be great to hear.

No worries! Haha I got some interest but no one really serious I guess. The car was just accepted by bringatrailer so if there is no one interested here I'm probably going to pursue that route!

Have noticed a surprisingly amount of e91s coming up for sale in the last week.
Here are a few standouts from last few hours:

2012 328i | xDrive | Manual | iDrive | Deep Sea over Oyster
50,453 miles - $18k @ Westbrook, ME
Vin - WBAUU3C55CA951272
https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=294205760

2011 328i | xDrive | Auto | iDrive | Tasman over Beige
45,950 miles - $19k @ Baltimore, MD
Vin - WBAUU3C56BA542700
https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=294211685

2008 328xi | Manual | ? | ?
124,000 miles - $? @ Attleboro, MA
https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/ct...271836361.html
^listing doesn't share info, requires a call

Overall prices on 75% of new e91 listings are kinda absurd. Assuming we'll see some of these sit for a while but maybe I'm wrong and there's still appetite for a $20k e91 that's only really special because of low miles...

I will try to get a thread up in the next week or so with all the parts and some instructions. Driveshaft can be from any manual/rwd 328. Mine actually came from an e93, which had lower miles. Honestly there are no issues and parts are readily available.

Good information on the driveshaft. I had seen in another thread that matches your comment on driveshaft, but I was skeptical. Looking forward to your post.

I've seen you ask about this swap a few times now. I'm not sure what level of detail you're looking for, but these two resources should answer most of your questions:

https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=25775240

and

If you have any specific questions not covered in either of those I'm happy to answer them.

Wrt the driveshaft: we only had an issue with it because it was sourced from a 330i.
