It's possible that it was an unintended outcome due to the dispersal. Mobs shift quickly and there are only so many officers with boots on the ground.

Speaking of boots on the ground, I apologize if this has already been discussed, but any thoughts on that Travis Scott concert in Houston? I think I heard there were at least 500 police officers at the venue and something about folks knowing there could be violence at his concert. Apparently he has a bit of a history with encouraging shit among his fans. I haven't read up on every detail of this tragic incident but man, what a mess.

It was a mess, plus people were being stabbed with syringes. What occurred is one of the primary dangers of concerts where everybody is standing.

In my club hopping days people did it using HIV/AIDS infected needles. Your guess is as good as mine what the goal was for the perpetrators this time.

The fact is that the police are almost alway reacting to a situation that they are called to or find themselves in. Use of Force is driven by the subject not the police.

This may be a more lawyer question, but does a mistrial end all future trials on the same charge? The DA is about to get himself in jail for contempt

A mistrial can be retried, but depending on the reasons for the mistrial and/or the strength of the case, the prosecution may not seek to retry the case and waste taxpayer dollars.

Not to be outdone, he later attempted to "impeach the witness" with information the judge had already decaled inadmissible.

THEN he went on to "question" the witness, after witness said he didn't know much about ammo, about the difference between FMJ and hollow, by incorrectly describing the ability to pass thru multiple victims, corrected by the judge on the facts.

Then they broke for lunch . . .

I remember the outrage when it happened but I haven't been following the trial, I'm trying to focus on being retired.

Listened in all morning/pm. He has repeatedly bounced the DA's attempts to trap him into saying he meant to kill those people, by saying they were chasing him or had hit/kicked/verbally threatened him.

Based solely on his own testimony, I would vote to acquit.

But I'm not on the jury, and missed the previous 6 days of testimony.
