EVs release their own oxygen when they burn, meaning they can reignite hours or even days after the original fire has been doused. They also emit poisonous fumes that Tom Miller, who teaches for the West Virginia University Fire Service Extension and the National Volunteer Fire Council, said “make hydrogen cyanide look like Pez.”

This my issue with "Big City" and EV targeting (to improve emissions-related) big city air quality. If you live in a city like New York, you really don't need a car especially if you work in the city. Most big cities have very good public transportation, and most city neighborhoods have local businesses for most of life's needs just a short walk from your front door. City dwellers own cars to get away for the weekend, which is where I find the difficulty. Most EV have short travel range before one needs to recharge on the public charging infrastructure. And most city dwellers can't charge at home. So, from my perspective EV are pointless to own for a big city dweller.

some car dealerships are now buying large fire blankets and placing them over any electric vehicle that is parked inside overnight or EVs that are being repaired and having to sit (either overnight or while waiting on parts to arrive).

I'd expect this to become required for everyone pretty soon.
