TX, this is starting to scare me, but you have the same color Honda Accord parked in your garage just like in one of my pics. Is that your wife's? My fiance drives a Honda Accord LX V6. Anyway, I was just telling her about you being an orthodontist and we were looking at the "bling" homes in the background of your pictures when we noticed the Honda. We both laughed b/c I just got done telling her about our common interests. Thanks for the laugh.

That is too funny. It's a 2003 Honda Acoord EX V6. It's the wifes. As far as houses go, you get a lot for your money in TX. Everything is big in TX. You should see some of the homes down here.

335e90, I did notice a lot of brake dust, especially the first 100 miles, seems to be a little bit less now. Is your DSC error gone? I already have 175 miles. How 'bout you guys? Do you want to hear about the break-in pep talk my CA had with me? Also, tonight an older mustang pulled up next to me at the light and he was revving his loud exhaust, oh my god it was hard to not blow him away, I mean it was like having to "pull out" during sex.

man you two are freaking me out, now post pictures of your wife and fiance, maybe it is the same person? just kidding....

I have 130 miles on the car now in 1 week, I'm just loving the car....

the only thing so far that is bothering me is the drivers seat, I have repositioned the seat about 50 times trying to get it just right!

What's your "break-in" method?

honestly I have just been driving.... unfortuntly I have a boring commute of 11 miles each way stop and go, last night was my first opportunity to get on the highway, I drove basically at a constant 65 or around 3k RPM's.
I did hit it once just to pass someone and see what it could do..

Just broke 500 miles today, have taken it up to 5000 rpm twice. Got a nice comment from a guy on a big Harley on the way to work. Took it to work for the first time today and lots of compliments.

I haven't even broken 100 miles yet. Most of those were to and from work on Tuesday. Normal roads, with mild traffic. I have not taken her on the highway yet. Looking forward to it this weekend. :rocks:

I agree about the seats. I still haven't found the right spot yet.

My buddy in Cincy owns one of these: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=109162

I can set you guys up for a race if you want.. Poor guy waited 18 months for that car - it sat in customs for over a month. I can't even complain about how long my car is taking to him..

I'll go ahead and tell you guys what my CA said to do for break-in even though no one seems to care. First off, he said not to use the cruise control. Keep the rpm's low for the first 600 miles (~3500 or lower). Then after that 600 miles, start opening those turbos up, run it all the way through each gear (still stay away from redline), then when you hit 1000 miles, drive it like you stole it!!! He stated that if you do not do this then it will run like a dog. The computer resets itself around 1000 miles to your style of driving and this is a critical window of time to teach that car how to behave for the rest of ownership. (according to the CA) He also said not to let anyone else drive it, b/c the car is learning your style of driving.

Interesting. Not sure I believe the car is learning my driving habits though. If you look at the horsepower and torque curves for a stock car there is never a reason to get near the redline. I think HP peaks around 5600-5800 so anything over 6000 rpm your just working the enginge hard and getting nothing out of it.

I'vr never heard of that either, but it would be very interesting if it was true. I also never find the need to go above 6000 RPM. The car has great power up to 6000 RPM.

Not sure about the torque curve or what the power is even like b/c I've haven't come close to 6,000. BUT, I have read a few threads that talked about the car learning your driving style, i.e. what rpm you shift gears at, acceleration, etc. But I also read that the car resets itself every so often. Disclaimer: I'm no expert, I'm just here to share what I've heard.

With BMWs technology, I wouldn't be surprised if the car can do that.

By the way, Longtran has an opening for the painted reflectors if you are still interested.

Picked mine up last night. There is a scratch on the driver side rear window . I am sure it didn't exist when I was driving it in Munich. I let the dealer know and they said they can take care of it. Not sure how besides replacing the window which I am guessing is fairly major.

Also noticed that the driver side midrange speaker cover is not affixed properly to the door panel. The speaker cover sticks out and there is a gap between the grill and the side of the door panel.. The Dealer mentioned that would be covered under warranty.

As much as I feel happy to have my new car it doesn't feel so new having all these little things to now worry about.

I am noticing a bunch of break dust as well. Only driven 220 miles and the wheels look filthy already.

Congrats on your delivery. Sorry for the issues that you have. At least the dealer seems to be on top of it, and are not giving you a hard time about it.
