Does anyone have an update on the 517Trans upgrade on the Vishnu ST car (I forgot the name)?. I heard it was slipping after the build but went back under the knife. Wondering if they successfully upgraded it yet.

I was at FFTEC today, they are still awaiting its return from 517 with the stronger clutch packs.

Do you know if the clutch packs are custom made by 517 or are they available parts that will fit the ZF but not OEM? I've been searching and haven't found any aftermarket for the zf6hp21. I'm trying to wrap my head around building my trans but I'm pretty far from cali

Damn man, it's incredible that this hasn't been figured out by now. How hard could it be? Add a few clutch packs, valvebody springs, torque converter and somebody has to HACK that TCU!!! Probably 75% of these cars are automatics and nobody wants to capitalize on this thing. We should talk to Sheperd Transmission and get somebody with balls on this project.

I think people have already tried and failed. The software version is apparently incompatible. We just need a good hacker. Where's Anonymous when we need them, haha.

I talked to my mechanic he's a transmission specialist, he told me that he has many tcu's post 3/07. So I want to make sure if i change the tcu of my cars transmission (11/06) I should be able to flash it with the alpina tcu flash? Just making sure before I go for it

I'm pretty sure there's hardware modifications you need to make. I just tried to flash an 02/07 model last night who had GKE215 but I got an error in Winkfp saying the hardware was not compatible and it wouldn't flash. I've heard it has to do with the valve body.

I just checked realoem.com the mechatronic/valvebody which I believe is the TCU ( correct me if I'm wrong) pre 03/07 the number is 24347647855 and the post 03/07 (up to 10/12) number is 24347647856.
So if I swap my mechatronic to post 03/07 which has the correct part number (after adaptation , coding and all that has to be done to work properly on my car...) I should be able to flash it with the alpina b3 flash ?

Correct. The ECU is probably a part of the mechatronics unit so while a unit may have the GKE215 ECU it doesn't necessarily have the right hardware but BMW doesn't sell the ECU and hardware separately. You must buy the while unit.
