So I was crawling under the car the other day and happened to see this "mod" in the front fender under the front mount of the lower a-arm, the cutout was made on both sides. Any idea why this would have been done? The only thing I could think of was to get the suspension to drop down further if changing out the struts/springs. The struts look to have been on the car for a long while as they had a decent layer of road grime on them that I wiped off around the tag and saw they are bmw branded struts, forgot to get the p/n off it though. It does seem that I have a significant amount of front wheel gap between the stock 225's and the fender, ~32-38mm whereas the rears are only about 12-18mm. Is this along the lines of where everyone else sits at with the oem suspension and what do you make of the cutout on the fender?

I was told by an attorney that the airbag recall qualifies under the California lemon law and that I may be entitled to full refund of the purchase price. To good to be true ...but I am waiting to see what happens.

Good luck on that. The injectors have to be deemed defective by the dealer. They will be not excited to declare your injectors bad,and certainly will not do so for free. So, I'm guessing multiple owners will pay a diagnostic fee and be told their injectors are ok. A lucky few will get new injectors, but I have no idea how many.

I actually got the same letter too. And this is not the one that was a error. I received the error one last month with a follow up letter saying it was an error. So I assume the coverage on the injectors are extended now.

I've been lurking for a long time, got my 2013 335id back in August of 2015 at 28k miles, currently 506xx on the odometer.
Did a few exterior mods to it such as the CPS front lip and performance rear spoiler. Have BMS downpipes, ER chargpipe, and ST XTA coilovers ready to be put on. Just did a walnut blast on it as well. |
