Well the Santa Ana winds didn't pass us by this time. Currently sustained winds @35 mph and gusts as high as 67 mph. Making a mess everywhere. Hopefully there will be no big damage. Supposed to be calm by 6pm.

Long story short.

I have a strong immune system, so usually when I get the flu I just ride it out, and it goes away after a while.
Well, not this time. I`ve been in bed, on and off for the past 3 days. I was not getting any better, so this morning I went to the doctor.
I have an infection because I let it go so long.
I guess my immune system is not as strong as it was anymore

The doctor prescribed Nat-Oseltamivir 75mg, 2 pills per day for 5 days.

The good thing is that I lost 7 pounds in 3 days. I know it`s mostly water weight, but I`ll take

Had our home windows open today for the first time in 2024. The high here was 72F, and 83F down in SC at our tree farm. Thankfully the wind finally died down.....

Mid-70s here today. We're about to get slammed with a nasty T-storm, though. And still some twisters dancing around to the west of us. This house has a separate foundation for the garage. Would have been a great place for the builders to put a small tornado shelter as it would have been accessible from our furnace room in the basement. Too late to do that now, though.

One of my design goals for the Garage Mahal is to have a walk-under automotive service pit cut in the slab when the concrete is poured. It will be labeled "tornado/storm shelter" on the blueprints, to avoid hassles with residential zoning.....

Just got a tornado warning for a tornado capable cell in the county, but it's well south of us and moving east, so it should miss us. This is screwing with my planned workout time though. Bah!

Charleston is just a tad outside the total eclipse path. We'll see 99.63% totality. If it's going to be clear, I may drive a bit east to get into the totality zone.

The eclipse 7 years ago wasn't total in this area. You needed to be in far southern IL for that. Those folks will see their second total eclipse in 7 years. Pretty rare.

Some pics I took of the 2017 eclipse.

70's today, shorts weather but reality check coming next week. I spend 3 hours working on a massive infestation of Lady Beetles. I know it's good luck but I've had all the good luck I can tolerate this year. If it looks like this next year I will have to look at profession help.
Any suggestions appreciated.

39F this morning well before sunup but forecast for the 60s this afternoon and 70s for the next few days. Of course, Mother Nature can throw us a curve ball, but it appears that spring has arrived.

Today was 71F with showers. The pollen level is still very high.

At least the car in the parking lot was cooler than the 94F yesterday
