I applied car pro fly by forte on my windshield and cleaned the front two leather seats with auto glym leather cleaner. Finished off with Poorboy's leather conditioner.

I replaced the front suspension springs (left broke in half, thanks NE rust...), bumper cover, left LED halo bulb, right fog bulb. Reshaped secondary hood latch, glued left grill back together, added gorilla glue to broken pieces inside left headlight to repair autoleveling system.
Evidence of civic that cut off my sister on the highway then nailed the brakes has been erased! |

Finally got my Style 162's refaced and straightened yesterday. Because these are difficult to find in great shape for short money, I decided to go the poor mans route and sourced these out of California. Had to piece meal it, first with a group of three(the passenger side of the 335 donor got destroyed in a crash according to the seller) and then the search was on for the final 8x18. That said, these wheels were mega unloved. In CA. unlike here in MA., they don't usually take their wheels off to stow for the winter so the wheels don't get a full thorough cleaning before they're put up. The pic below is what they basically all looked like. The owner/s obviously didn't give a shit.
Then I cleaned them up with SONAX. Not cheap stuff, but well worth the money for this job. After several hours yesterday with the wheel guy, these came back: All said it cost me about $250 a corner, do the math, but since I piece mealed it and it's been a project around 2 1/2 months old, I didn't feel the sting all at once. I had my reservations about the whole thing at first, but I've been chasing down these wheels for a while and once I set my eyes on the finished product...well, a picture speaks a thousand words man. They're much more impressive "in the flesh" though. So yep, this is what I did for my car yesterday.

I did it myself. Took about an hour and a half for each side. I was also cleaning everything as I went. Basic hand tools and a set of spring compressors and your good to go. I would say on a scale from 1-10, 1 being a tire change 10 being a turbo replacement. It is about a 3.

Got m3 front and rear control arms delivered, along with some other rear bushings. Just waiting on my Whiteline rear inner bushings to get delivered, then allllll of this will be going in this weekend:
Lots of work to do. But it'll be well worth it

I finally got my VRSF charge pipe and HKS blow off valve installed. The old diverter valves gave up after 145k. I also had a small fracture on the old CP.
Install went smooth. Everything fit great ans sounds ever better |

Stared at it out the window since I can't drive from an abdominal surgery. Haven't driven in 3 days. Tomorrow hopefully I 'll be able to go sit in it and start it up for a few minutes.

Water pump and thermostat at 69k miles on my N52. No signs of failure so this was preventative maintenance. A pain in the ass but got it done within 5 hours. Pierburg pump and Wahler thermostat were from FCP (for only $370) and they were exactly the same as the factory parts, with the exception of BMW logos and 2008 date stamps. The Pierburg pump came with the three bolts as well. |
