well it's been exciting.
started yesterday doing some PM.
then I broke a bolt off in the transmission.

yay!.

so I tried drilling it out.
for 8 hours yesterday.
after I had broken an extractor off in it...
I quit at 1 am after all my bits were wasted.
up and at em this morning with new bits. Still getting no where.
So I used a carbide burr and hogged it out, got to not hardend material and drilled it out after an hour.
crooked of course.
So I picked the remnants of the bolt out, then drilled it 1/4 and put a M6 helicoil in it.
Reinstalled pan, filled with fluid, no leaks.
amazeballs.
Changed the oil, went for a test drive, then put the aero pans back on.

worst. trans. service. ever.

Lowered the front ride height by 1cm with this free and easy modification to the struts: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...8&postcount=70

I have non-Sport suspension (C5 front springs) and I'm happy with the resulting ride height. Perfect for a daily IMO

In the process of upgrading my heated non-sport steering wheel to a heated Sport wheel with paddle shifters. I rewired the paddle shifters to function like normal ones (pull left to downshift, pull right to upshift) using this thread:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=121524

The trim is from an X1 and fits any wheel that uses the Sport model airbag:

I get this feeling, too; I work out of town a lot and I use rental cars to get around.

I always look forward to coming home and taking the 335i out for a drive.

Nice, great to find out you did this after hearing that you might.

How do you like the B6s? I'm constantly on the fence but I have a suspicion the B6 are better matched to the wagon bc we have a bit more weight.

Noted on the Babauto tool.
