I went and bought the oil from BMW and brought it over to Strauss to get the change. The oil that came out was pretty clean. If you intend on owning your car for the long term....I'd do the same as I did.

DIY...yes i would. its very easy or if you want to spend money out of pocket then go but honestly its very easy. if you need help, i can be of assisstance actually nevermind im not driving 3 hrs for an oil change lol

Haven't really been thinking about any maintenance yet because I've only had the car for a month. Maybe I will drive to my close by dealer and have a chat with them on what they think. I have some other questions to them as well. Though I didn't buy the car from there... But they have been nice to me.

So when I do get the oil change, should I go an buy the oil somewhere else and make them use that? Which oil should I use?

I'm all confused and worried now.

I would have DIY, but I can' get my car on ramps......front lip is too low....

Shit I've read people doing it at 300-1000-2000-5000-7500-10000 and getting the oil analyzed in between to see the amount of metal deposits and how the engine is breaking in.

I will not do it myself, that is for sure! How much does it normally cost to get it done at the dealers?

Or maybe I just do what a friend of mine did, he poured the engine full of oil, as much as he could fit in to the oil tank

Needless to say, that was the end of that engine.

I will drop by at the local dealers today and ask them recommendations for a tint shop as well. Want those windows done so bad...

You should have done it at 1,500 miles...you're late...

I've done it twice, once at 1,600 miles and second on the 1st anniversary.

I'm due for the annual checkup....I burned a qt between 1000 to 9000. I dumped in a qt before the BM meet.
