People with ca,ariz,Nevada gas (91) , how does your car run on the regular Sport maps? Do you find yourself limited to the less aggressive drive maps for safety ?

You need to log. In that situation there's no real way around it.

I plan on it when I get my Cobb next week. If I'm limited to the drive map, I hope it will still be a big enough gain in performance to justify the price.

Its probably best to go with an upgraded FMIC. Your car will than you and you'll enjoy the stage 1+ maps.

Even with the fmic, I don't think they make a stage 1+ map for ca 91 gas...

guys, i have changed my coils and spark plugs.. back on stage 1 sport map. Last night noticed two rough shifts at 4k and a rough down shift... not jerky just a light clunck that wasn't the normal smooth change. I have a ZF steptronic. normal or something to worry about? it didn't happen all the time even when foot was being pressed maily when i was in a little load and taking foot off. thinking of a tanny oil change.

cheers

That's normal. Some ROMs still display vacuum others don't.

SO I had my VRSF DPs + my Helix FMIC installed today. I ran Stage 2+FMIC (Sport Mapping) the whole ride home. After turning the car off briefly, I turned the car back on to show my brother the new performance. As soon as I merged on the highway, the car went limp + a SES light got thrown up. I got off the highway, turned the car off & back on. The performance is fine now, but the SES light is still going on (I'm also getting fault codes for the rear cats, no surprise).

Is this b/c something is legit wrong or simply a side effect of going catless? And would a BMS DP fix resolve this?

Clear the codes and see if it comes back again. Stage 2 and 2+ should not trigger the check engine light from the catless downpipes.

What codes are you getting? With stage 2 you shouldn't trigger cat ineffiencey codes.

Post the codes, log some cruising and a 3rd>4th pull and post the csv for diagnosis.

than i would do an oil change. quite expensive though... you need around 7 liters and change the oil pan with filter.

Thanks everyone in advance -- Just went for a drive & it started out fine, then the SES came out + the car was shuddering. Here are the codes that the AP is reading:
  • P0302 - Cylinder 2 Misfire
  • PO301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire
  • PO300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfires
  • P2C7F - Lambda Probe after catalytic converter 2, trimming control
  • P29CE - Misfire, Cylinder 2
  • P29CD - Misfire, Cylinder 1
  • P29CC - Misfire, more cylinders
  • P2C31 - Lambda probe before catalyst, trimming control

I'm hoping/thinking its just that the plugs need to replaced. Not sure why (P2C7F and P2C31) cat related codes are getting thrown, I'm assuming that the sensors were damaged during install.

enrita -- Do you have the specific part number for the NGKs? I just want to confirm before I order them, thanks.
