A steak. Disappointing though. I grabbed one Thursday for Friday because it was supposed to be warm enough to crank up the grill. Gale force winds killed that idea. I put in the broiler today but not the same. I did make roasted broccoli and roasted beets.

Asian inspired stir fry

A variation on a classic in my repertoire, I have been making this for a long time.

Bok choy
spring onions
bean sprouts
garlic
ginger
dried red chili - just enough for a bit of warmth
Basmati rice cooked with tamari and sesame oil

Stir fry seasoned with tamari and sesame oil during cooking and with a bit more when serving. Garnished with onion greens and roasted sesame seeds. Sesame is one of my favorite flavors of all time.

I found a good Chinese grocery nearby and, combined with the Indian grocery I have been using, I am confident of a good supply of authentic ingredients.

Born / raised in Lahore but never ever had Nihari or Haleem till I came to Canada as wifey likes this food!!

We left in '89 and call Canada home since. Happy memories of school and friends.

I may have this food once in a while, otherwise I get serious heart-burn from the spices.
