Yeah but its the same exhaust, don't you think if it "mattered" they would have released two different exhausts?
Also, I think it's a safe assumption to say if the exhaust was awesome on a 335i it would be even more awesomer on a 335is!

Guys, its the 'same' exhaust between the 335i, iS, and the PE. The difference being in the packing material in and between the muffler sections. The weights of each exhaust is exactly the same (unless you just want to weigh the packing material or lack thereof between all 3 exhausts, then you'll find grams of a difference haha) The PE only looks different b/c of that stamp 'Performance Edition' or w/e it says that BMW places on the PE, otherwise exactly the same looking.
Then yes, the black tips on our iS and the straight chrome tips on the PE are the only other difference left....and being that the PE does not have the actuator valve. The iS exhaust w/ a golf tee mod is still different than the PE due to the packing material inside. BMW did not put the PE on our iS because it is still a production car, same as they did not put the ///MPE on M3's. Our iS exhaust is the in-between from the stock 335i to the PE, kept quieter for dd purposes b/c not everyone purchasing the iS wants that aggressive of a sound for dd. Nobody with an iS, me included, would fork over $1k for what is essentially the same exhaust...much easier if you wish to just do the PE exhaust mod (cut open your muffler section and remove the packing material). Anyone spending that amount on an exhaust would get a much better, more aggressive sounding exhaust and the benefit of having the weight savings that come with a better aftermarket one as well. HPF was one that comes to mind. Just to add: I'm personally quite happy with my exhaust, DP's with vibrants in place of sec. + 4" Cyba dry carbon tips.

Tires for my 2012 335is
My car is very low miles (14k) as I only drive it on the weekends. I am nearing the end of life for my original run flats. What tire would you recommend for a daily driven car. I do not track my car and I take very good care of it. I am considering Mich. Pilot Super Sports. Any comments on this tire would be appreciated.

I would be interested in following up with you in a couple of months and getting your feed back on those. I ran them on my roadster a few years back (stock 18 size) and they were a good tire, but then switched to Michelin's PSS's 2 sizes up for a better ride quality. I have RF, and am looking at getting the new PS4 that are coming out.
Regards

I went with these: http://m.ebay.com/itm/252489364889?_...76&_mwBanner=1
No gloss black. You need to pay more for those. I think ECS makes them. Another option would be getting these: http://m.ebay.com/itm/162202829703?_...49&_mwBanner=1 and get them powdercoated gloss black. Full disclosure: I like my 4.0", and they fill the bumper hole perfect. That said, they might look a little to big for some people. They are exhaust tips, so you can change them aa much as you want and it is not that expensive. I paid $60 to get them installed.

Here is the pic I posted a while back. I'll try and get some better ones. They are Cyba Black Chrome 3.8". They sent me the "dark black chrome" by mistake which has more of a matte finish. The regular black chrome looks much better imo.

when I changed out the exhaust tips on the performance exhaust I did notice a slightly different tone. for a 4 inch exhaust tip..think about the size of the output. I never said it was something night and day. when you notice a change it can be slight but it is a CHANGE. & I can post where ever I want to. you're not the forum police so chill out Last edited by NightStalker; 04-06-2017 at 09:15 AM.. |
