I don't have a PDC button. As soon as I put it in reverse the camera and PDC appear. Once I come out of reverse it goes to the normal screen. I don't think it changes anything but my car is a manual. |

Someone told me it should switch off when you drive a few yards. This seems like incorrect info. II have an issue somewhere. I am going to look at it again this weekend. The camera switches on when I put it into reverse but it does not go out when I put it in 1st gear. |

Thinking of buying this camera, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2523221538...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Will it work or are the connectors too big to feed through? |

Problem is that other ebay sellers are selling camera's which look almost the same as the autofocustech but for less than half price. |

I have a 2010 e92 without PDC and am interested in having a backup camera. I am just shopping autofocustech's store on eBay and am looking for confirmation on my selection. Can you all confirm that these are the only items I will need to get it working?

You don't need the first item (wire harness), you can just tap 4 wires at the CIC connector and insert the rca video plug into the same CIC connector.

I was just hoping not to splice the factory cables, but I think you're right, Im gonna just go ahead and do so. Its not like I will ever be uninstalling the set up anyways. Thanks. Also, what have people used for coding? Successful without PDC?

I am installing the rear view camera.
The module has been installed but it is no working properly. I have coded my CIC unit according to the first. When I put the car in reverse, the CIC seems to do something on the screen (kinda graying out the menu) but does not display reverse camera. If I stay in reverse for more than 2-3 seconds, the CIC freeze and reboots. My CIC fimware is at 16. The video camera is working and has been verified by connecting a monitor in place of the CIC. The camera power is not coming for the emulator but from circuit KL15 (I want to be able to tap into the video at all time to display on another monitor). I have a E90, 2010 with automatic transmisison and no PDC. I have connected the unit as per the instructions in the box. I have no canbus error on the dash. It just doesn't work like it should. Anyone has a suggestion on what to do next or is the emulator defective? thank you |

I have found out what was wrong, I thought it was worth the time to post the fix in case somebody has the same issue.
When I coded the options in the CIC, the first one is: MACRO_PDC aktiv by mistake, I have forgotten that option and it was still at nicht_aktiv. Once corrected, it started to work. no more crashing and image display is perfect. Now I will test the system over the next days and post my success/issues. Quote:

How does one run, without them? Cut the green wire that is "looped" nearest the camera?
