Try resetting adaptations with Tool32. Default coding your DME with NCS won't help with your idling issue.

Downloaded link, followed install instructions and all went well. Able to connect to vehicle but when attempting to select transmission : gearbox / auto gs19. I'm greeted with this. Any ideas/help on what this is would be appreciated.

Use the INPA LOAD application inside ecapps>inpa>bin>INPALOAD

Thank you for the reply! Not seeing e90 as a option though.

I noticed it searches for a file for a split second before those pop up. Am I missing a file?

Thanks! That worked but I wonder why my main menu isn't in English and layout is a little different from the one on your website.

You didn't copy/past the folders to your C: drive.

I recently set up a new laptop with this but it is able to read the car and save a TRC file in the work folder on NCSexpert. I can modify and save the files with no problem but when I want to code a module in expert profile it resets the module to default. I actually had to break out my old system to code my CIC back to how I like it. Do you have any clue why it would not code the module with my edited TRC and MAN files?

I'd bet the profile you're using is set up for default coding not manipulation. Is there another profile available when you pick your profile?

Yes, there were the two profiles in the download. I copied the profiles from my working system and will test it tonight again.

Every step forward leads to another error. I hope this is worth it.

Got INPA to work only to not have it communicate with the OBDII, looked it up, changed my

Interface =ENET
to
Interface =STD:OBD

Only to get a IFH-0018 error with an Error #28

Comm ports are set to "Comm1" in every location and I checked windows to make sure that it's plugged into the right port. It is. Software for the OBDII is installed. Neither that battery or ignition dot are black, so no communication.

Help?? The list of things I need to check are starting to pile up and I'm starting to get annoyed.

SOLUTION:

I have no idea why this crossed my mind, but I'm running the program on a mac via windows 10 using parallels. Well, I followed the directions and changed the Com port to 1, so the OBDII cable always came up as Com1. It's a virtual machine, so it doesn't work like that. Mac is still calling it a different port (macs don't technically have com ports, or nothing the computer calls a com port)

So, after that came to my head, I took both of my OBDII cables and plugged them in. One came up as the changed port (Com1) and the other came up as Com4. Little more digging and I found out "Com1" as I named it was actually Com3. Swithed the Com port in EDIBAS.INI to the correct port and everything started working

Error with Coding Tool Setup, pls Help

Nevermind... found my answer on page 8 of this thread. I was selecting the whole EC-APPS folder instead of the NFS folder inside of it. Guess I wasn't reading the tutorial closely enough, lol.

Hello,

I've made it though part of the install but ran into problems setting up the folders in the BMW coding tool app (section 17 in tutorial). I'm getting the following error: "EC-APPS is not a valid EC-APPS\NFS folder" when adding this folder using the WinKFP-NFS button.

I've double checked the sub folders inside of EC-APPS multiple times and they match what the first page of this thread instructs. Although not in the tutorial I also noticed there is a folder named "INPA Fxx" with .txt instructions to place it into the EC-APPS folder. I thought this would solve the issue but still the same error.

Please help and this is on an older machine running XP SP3, 32bit if it matters.

Thanks!

OK, I will try that. I gather this reset is different than the one under the INPA menu ?

And just to make sure: my idle is actually pretty much ok (steady @ 600rpm). My problem is: (1) a brief but deep hesitation/rpm drop when starting from the spot (or a very low speed), and (2) in the summer when coasting in gear with a/c running - upon taking it out of gear (approaching an intersection/stop sign) the rpms drop hard - at times so much that the engine dies.

Why do I use to unzip the 7 zip file? When I download it, my laptop just goes to internet explorer.
