In the sense that it matches the lifecycle of F80: the initial version goes on sale a couple of years after the non-M versions, then gets the LCI just over a year later.

Why only the long wheelbase 7 here in the US? The SWB looks so much better.

Sorry, I dont agree. People dont buy a BMW because of the luxury or comfort. They buy a BMW instead of a Mercedes because it is sporty or look sporty. The usual BMW customer buy BMWs because they are the sporty, high quality brand, because if they would seek pure luxury, they would go MB. Besides, everyone already mentioned Porsche, but they are right. Porsche is doing great right now, they are making more models than ever before and selling well at ridiculously high prices, while the cars drive great. They are very sporty and special in driving dynamics, with luxury complementing the dynamism. And yet, everyone likes to buy a Porsche.

It was like that with the E90M and E92M. Then the E93M soldiered on for a couple of months even after that.

Yeah, I remember. But I assumed BMW would more closely match the SOP and EOP of 3- and 4-series and their LCIs going forward.

I think he means that M2 gets an LCI for its second model year like the M3 did since its based on the 2 series which will be getting its LCI soon. The F82 M4 will get its LCI update along with the F32 4 series. LCI for the M2 is not tied to the M4.
