This is great to hear! Based on our conversations and emails, I have no doubt he is absolutely the right guy. As soon as I get off this damn ship and get back on land, I'll be itching to get up to MI and meet the man soon! Hopefully the car will be done by then!

I’m selling my 2007 328it RWD.
Silver metallic with black leather.
Non sport
No idrive. 143k miles w/ auto trans.
Xenon lights
Salvage title. Carfax says collision damage reported. AFAIK all body panels are original and original paint.
Rides smooth and well, it’s my daily.
Just passed CA smog inspection.
What’s it worth?
Carfax shows a retail value was $6,520.

I really can't tell you a value in today's market, but is Carfax really quoting $6250 including a salvage title on the car? That seems awfully high as it would imply a clean title car would be ~$9k or so.

My E91 sounds similar: 2007 silver/gray, 138k miles, all original paint and clean title, comfort access, premium pkg, heated seats, adaptive xenons, fresh brake pads and rotors, 219M M3 wheels with 235/40-18 PS4S all around, Eibach front sway bar, E93 M3 rear sway bar, etc, but I didn't think it would sell for $6000 or more; perhaps in today's market it would.

two years ago I bought my '09 with 125k for $6100. AT, sport, xenons, comfort access, cold weather including heated wheel, and clean carfax. CA car too (no surface rust underneath). grey with black interior. I would have gone has high as $7k, so I was super happy with the deal.

I would say I am not a salvage title buyer.

I'd double that asking price if I were you. Used car prices are insane right now.

Yes it is listing the retail as 6,520.
I’m sure you can get more than $6000 for yours if you were to sell with the e91 prices right now. You’ve got me beat on options.
Besides running well with no issues, the only thing mine really has going for it is the xenons.

I wonder over time if salvage titles will become more acceptable? As cars age and lose value and are more complicated there are cars that are totaled that 10 years ago wouldn't have even been close. I have no problem with them if I got the car and did the work myself. My son's GTI is salvage, it needed a fender, bumper cover, and a few supports, headlight, and windshield washer tank. Great car for a 16 yo kid. No airbags deployed etc...The problem is that in the past it's been the realm of shady folks putting super wrecked cars or flood cars back on the road.

When you have 10 year old manual cars selling for 20k when their sedan counterparts are selling for 6k it totally makes the value of a car screwy. Time will tell I guess.

If I'm going take a car and completely mod the hell out of it with engine swaps etc I might as well start with a salvage title car I reckon.

I’ve never minded them so long the damage was minor or repaired properly.
A few years ago I was looking at private party Corolla’s.(‘06-‘09 cars) Went to see a clean title one that had been wrecked in about 3 places around the car. Including a wrinkled up engine bay apron.

I don’t think there are many 09s out there for $6100 these days. That was a good deal.

The post literally above yours is a very similar car with lower miles and clean title listed for $7,500. I'd think yours is worth $3-5k to someone that can look past the title brand.

Another yawn inducing 1600veloce BaT E91 listing: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...-sports-wagon/

On a side note, I am curious why his titles are going through Arizona. Something is weird there.

I'm not sure if NY dealers are exempt from needing their cars to pass inspection prior to sale. The lack of inspection requirement in Arizona would be my guess.

All this has going for it, besides E91 of course, is it's red and no iDrive.

His write-ups are nauseating.

Actually, I believe BaT authors those write-ups. Trying to be a disinterested third party to avoid liability.

Yeah, the descriptions are all written by BaT and very generic. But I do agree, this red one has 0 going for it other than his typical buttering up of the cars to make them look better.

Okay, re-subscribing (probably for the third time). I keep finding myself back here and continually looking for a E91. If anyone has a pulse on MSport within 8-12 hours of Denver please let me know.

MSport only
Open to all exterior colors
Open to all interior colors
Maintenance History (physical documents)
Bone Stock (or OEM+)
Mileage - open, dependent on maintenance history
Automatic (I know...)
X-Drive only
Navigation (CIC)
Heated Seats - must have

Trying to replace my 35d

Thanks

2011 black/black Msport Auto X

Not sure exactly what you mean by 'beat on' but I have a 137k black on black auto X-drive, iDrive, MSport/Convenience/Premium/Cold that I will be getting out of sooner than I had planned and before tidy up is finished. It's all subjective of course but I would classify it as a little rough with 'good bones'. Unfortunately, I have jack for physical records - just a carfax history with surprisingly detailed entries and verbals from selling 'dealer' both of which do seem to jive with the items one can confirm visually(eg. fog light, lower arms, brakes, oil filter housing, etc.)

Bought it for my son as bait to get him interested and off the computer - he's just not into it and now he has taken a summer job that will involve 6-700 miles/week so he's gonna be sentenced to driving the trusty spare CR-V transportation appliance.

Let me rephrase. A pulse on a MSport

I am not looking for a beat on MSport haha. Sorry for confusion.

Yours sounds nice but I really need records. Trust but verify thing. Shoot me a message with more info and pictures please.

That's funny - my bad! I was certainly curious who wants a 'beat on' MSport but hey - ya never know. I wouldn't quite say mine was beat on but I couldn't in good conscience say it shows being loved on like it should either - more a case of passive aggressive indifference as opposed to outright abuse.

Gotcha on the records and I would normally have been same but fell pretty hard for this on sight and drive - never a good plan with an aging BMW and I would be the first to say don't try this at home. I'll get some pics and post them public in case anyone else might be interested. Still not fully decided to move it on but garage space and Insurance situations certainly suggesting that would be the logical thing to do.

Market Value? 2009 325xiT 6mt NoNav Sport Package 93k miles

I'm considering selling my e91. Prices seem kind of volatile and the spread between KBB and BaT is massive.

What do you think this car is worth?

It is clean and has a good service history. I had a door dent repaired and the rear bumper cover replaced due to Braille parking, but no accidents. Rims were refinished by dealer, but they are not perfect. Excellent mechanical condition. Very little interior wear. No leaks. No issues.
