You likely have a boost leak. Follow this guide... (even if you don't have 30FF code) https://bmwtuning.co/bmw-n54-30ff-en...-repair-guide/ |

Anyone have stock datalogs?
I am just getting my N54 swap into my wagon finally running better after chasing some stuff down with the dsc faults. (AWD to RWD swap). The car is FBO with relocated inlets most of the mods came on my donor sedan except the relocated inlets.
Initially I had a cylinder 6 misfire and the car was seemingly running rich and fouling plugs, so I pulled the Jb4 out and swapped out to some used plugs that came with a donor to troubleshoot, swapped coils etc and always cylinder 6 misfire so I assumed injectors (still revision 1). But as I've been driving it more it seems like it's clearing up and not misfiring, maybe the injectors from sitting for approximately almost 1 year were sticking? Dunno I'm sure it won't last. So using my protools (all the usual MHD paramaters might not be in the log) I've done a few logs and I'm wondering if anyone has stock logs I can compare to. I will put the Jb4 back on eventually after I get some new plugs and feel better about the car. Here is 2 logs one from a steady cruise and one from a light pull in 3rd as I'm honestly still not ready to wail on it. https://datazap.me/u/n54wagen/3rd-ge...e?log=0&data=1 https://datazap.me/u/n54wagen/steady...s?log=0&data=1 |

If they are index 1 then there is a good chance they are leaking. If you want to rule this out... Park the car overnight. DO NOT start the car. Pull the spark plugs out and see if they are wet or stink like fresh fuel. This is the easiest way to tell.

Hey guys I just did my first data log on my N54 135i manual. Its on 119.4k miles. Completly stock right now but want to flash on stage 1+. I've just changed OFHG/Oil cooler gasket. No other oil leaks. Turbos have started to rattle but i've read that its okay to run MHD stage 1. Is that true? Ive also changed one of the boost solenoids, waiting for the other one to come tomorrow. Does the engine seem healthy to push? Mainly worried about the injectors. Both lambdas shoot up to 234 straight after WOT which is what you want apperantly.

Try adjusting rods to fix WG rattle, if it doesn't work you can try MHD rattle fix but it will introduce lag. Have you upgraded the Charge pipe to a metal one? It's highly recommended to have FMIC upgrade before flashing stage 1+ map |

Log timing corrections cylinders 1-6 and LTFT banks 1 and 2 nwxt time. You can always flash stage 1 and log it to see if it's running ok, if it drops below 1500 psi then it could potentially be failing. LPFP looks fine. You can pull plugs and see of they are wet or smell of fuel, this would indicate leaking injectors. I can't see anything from your log to indicate leaking injectors. |

MHD has LTFT bank 1 and 2 logging option. You may have to deselect some of the options you don't need. If I recall correctly something like 20 parameters can be logged at a time. Deselect Tmap sensor voltage, Maf g/s, WGDC bank 2, PID

That's weird, but yeah, connect your car and see if LTFT appears.

Understanding Timing & LPFP - are these not good?
Hi, y'all, still learning how to read my logs. I'd love some insight into my Timing corrections and LPFP psi.
I've been on this journey since mid summer '21. I'm now FBO. I ran MHD v8 st 1+ for 3K mi / 3mo. Just flashed to v10 stg 2+ and ran some logs. v8 Stg 1+ (ran for 3 months / 3K mi.) - 3 LOGS HERE https://datazap.me/u/mmattei2gmailco...-9-10-11-12-21 v10 Stg 2+ (just flashed and ran logs) - 3 LOGS HERE https://datazap.me/u/mmattei2gmailco...7-8-9-10-11-21 Going from 1+ to 2+ my LPFP is hanging around 46psi in the upper RPM's, whereas before it was low 50's. The timing corrections have always been present in this engine. At stage 0 I had them. I upgraded my coils and plugs (now NGK 1step colder) in November and that didn't seem change anything. But the smoothness improved drastically & the misfires went away. The car seems to drive very smoothly! But the data logs show timing corrections, usually in the -2 to -3 degrees, consistent across most cylinders. Every now and then I'll see -4 to -6. My concern derives from what I read in the MHD PDF, "Corrections that seem to be random, or never happen at the same load of up -3° are deemed to be acceptable as long as it’s not across multiple cylinders at a time." I'm not sure what to do, especially since decreased loads and boosts still see these timing corrections. I'm pretty much stuck with 93 OCT where I'm at, too, as far as I can tell (Austin, TX). Thanks a million!!!
