ok,decision is made- the AP is right for me.
few questions- 1) will i need a O2 fix with cattless DP's with using the AP? 2)what are bare minimum mods for stage 1? my tuner is dropping coin on the cobb software so ill be doing a pro tune BUT im going to do a base run and follow that up with a few pulls with every mod/tune. im lucky enough to have a dyno5 min from my house. 3)i know most dont use it but whats the feedback on the economy tune? given my job i tend to not drive the nicer vehicles to work,which mean my wife does,and her drive is 65 miles round trip. would her driving normally with stage 1/mods be any worse/better than the economy tune? 4)this one will prob stump a few. on my superduty i run a "Y" adapter for my obd port. i do this because i have a 6 in 1 gauge that runs off the port BUT i needed to leave the port open for code clearing and flashing(i do my own diesel tunes for my ford) without me messing up my ecu,could i do something similar? say a boost gauge combo and leave the other port for the cobb? or would a standard gauge like turner offers and leave the main port open? |

So I made a couple runs at the local dragstrip last night on Stage 2+FMIC agressive (I have the necessary mods, and I mixed 3 gallons of 104 octane with my 6 gallons of 91 octane in the car). Felt pretty strong, but just want to make sure everything is looking good (which I think it does) so that I can keep running that map at the strip.
Anyone see anything of concern with these datalogs? Keep in mind, I am at 5800+ feet in elevation, and DA at the track was 9500ft at one point. Used Zasquatch's grapher, so no RPM, but based on boost you can see what is going on. ![]() ![]() Last edited by raceyBMW; 06-14-2012 at 02:05 AM.. |

You dont need to buy a 02 fix, just install the dps and flash stage 2.

13.07s @ 107.7mph, which is pretty reasonable for up here, especially at 9500' DA! Only a very small handful have broken into the 12s, and those are usually XI and meth.

I got the new firmware for the AP today. Tanks again @ COBBtuning.
And of course I did the Installation immediately with Stage 1+ Sport. Works perfectly so far. Only the flashing is not that fast, but ok. Takes about 9 min. Now I have to make a logfile, right? In which gear and with which RPM do I get the best results? I thought it would be best if I start in 4th gear and go on until 5th or 6th. Or is 3, 4 and 5 better? I will try also to do a log for Stage 1+ aggressive. Another question regarding fuel. I live in germany an we have 95, 98 and >100 RON. which one should I use for Sport map and which one for aggressive. Or is there no way to tell without a logfile? Thanks for your help! |

After you have flashed for the first time where it saves your stock file, it will only take about a minute to flash again with a new map.
Log 3rd at least, you will probably never get to 5th because at WOT 4th will get you up to 130ish MPH (if AT)....unless of course you plan on logging on the Autobahn (jealous if so). Last edited by raceyBMW; 06-14-2012 at 06:50 PM.. |

Yeah I will log on the Autobahn. When I'm finished here at work it will about 4:30AM so nobody will be there except me. More than enough space for Speeds >250 KPH
