Hi all,

I’m the seller for this auction. FYI I’m fairly certain that my car is the one maxxfish posted about on page 4 of this thread! If you’re still around, I’ve enjoyed and I think taken good care of it. A note on the trim- it is a BMW original trim kit for a titanium/aluminum finish but it is actually plastic. The part number is in the ECS Tuning invoices in the gallery. It may have only been offered from the factory on other market cars, not US, I’m not certain. Thanks for the nice comments. Please let me know here or via BaT if you have any questions!

During the “while we’re in there” discussion I did jokingly ask if we could do an S65 swap and was told “anything is possible” but sadly left it there…

It appears to be the standard aluminum looking trim. We ordered a 330i and spec'd this trim...I'll attach of a pic of it below (we sold the car in 2019 after 13 years and this is a pic from the for sale ad...155k miles on it):

I’m sure that I installed this kit and that it is plastic. It could be the same. If your car had real, cold to the touch aluminum trim, it might also have been a variant of this kit. The one I used cost less, but still gave a more sporty look than the walnut which I had in my other car. Compared to the real aluminum trim I’ve seen in the F30, this one is not brushed and also a slightly darker, warmer tone. It looks nice I think!

Got it, yeah, the 330i had real aluminum, cold to touch. Your car definitely looks nice with that trim you chose.

Funny I went to check what's in my car but it's so hot in Vegas right now that I can't tell.

Any idea if this is the plastic or metal stuff?

Adaptive has the little ball in the front bumper, dynamic is regular old cruise which is standard I believe -

That should be the aluminum trim. Since you already have the boot off, just pull the trim off. You can verify by the label/imprint on the bottom/back.

I'm pretty sure it aluminum but it's hard to tell. The picture was a random one I had on my drive from when I put the new rod in. Not hard to pull trim off but don't want to for the sake of doing it. Less rattles the better!!
