Just wondering what any of you guys are getting for times at the track? I went last night and im pretty disappointed by my times, best of the night was 13.4 @ 104 with a 2.13 60ft. I should be able to hit high 12's consistently if i can get better traction for my 60ft. Stock Cobalt SS' were getting a better 60ft then me even though i would beat them by 2 seconds...

I was just running 91octane on 19" street tires.
I have DCI, Procede (V4 Maps), FMIC, Exhaust, BOV

Which track was this? Are you in Calgary, if so, your D/A will probably be in the 4,000's. It will play a part in your times, especially when comparing to sea level times.

The best comparison will be how other cars are doing at the same track, at the same time.

Also, are you MT or AT .. and how are you launching?

This is why i was asking on the Alberta section so i can what other 335i' are running in our region.

I ran in Edmonton, so i was at Castrol. I have a 6MT, and i was launching with the rpms around 2500 and slowly releasing the clutch in first till i could hook up.

I would love to try running at the track! I've never gone to a track before.. Be so much fun! Bigup, we should go down one of these nights!!

- Installed CP and BOV today! Instillation was lots of fun and it went flawless! Only problem now is we've noticed I have a boost leak... It was only evident when we tried to up the boost past Map 2 levels.. I'm not sure if it was from the install, the previous FMIC install or possibly the BOV itself! All I know is everything was on VERY tight after installing things.. I just hope I can find it She needs more hp!!!!

I really want to try running the track and seeing what my times are... this is the first time (since my modded Cavalier days haha) that I've had a car I could take there.

I feel the same way!! I had a skyline several years ago which was a head ache.. Since then I have not tuned any of my cars.
Now that I have a MONSTER of a 335i I'd love to see the times.

Nice car btw!

Bigup.. I'm so confused now, either A. I have a boost leak somewhere, * possibly the map sensor O'ring... * Not sure if we messed it up when adding oil when we replaced it... Or my car just isn't hitting its boost targets after 5500RPM due to our altitude. Either way I'm not happy as I want to boost more!! lol

We'll have to log map 2 to see if it looks different from last time.. then play with map 6 again.

So what are your mod plans for your car Couturegirl? If you ever want to come on a mini meet both myself and Simon are always up in the N.W. We'd be happy to get together adn discuss mods ETC. We've both been doing similar mods lately.

I've done EVERYTHING on my car in the past 2 months lol.. I'm stuck at 480horse though.. I'll need meth to push further!

Zero chance it's the o-ring... there are probably no boost leaks either .. but we can double check everything this week.

Map 2 comparison is the best bet!

I dont think there are any leaks. I'd like to know where all of the vaccume lining are! I agree with Terry's analysis.. due to the boost/duty cycle my car just can't boost more without meth. I'll leave it at stage 2. Its fast + very reliable...

Cosmetic wise I want to get it tinted ASAP... And I want stage 2, I know that for sure. As for anything else, I'm still deciding what I want to do first. I want this car to be a killer!

All of my friends drive Civics, Mazda 3's, etc. So I don't have that many ppl to bounce ideas off

Yup as I said .. enjoy map 2 for now

If you suddenly start getting killed on the street by other cars, it's time to add methanol!

tint is a must....especially on a black car!

stage 2 is definitely a good start....its very easy to make this car a sleeper that'll dom pretty much anything on the Calgary streets....Vader is the perfect example....2 months n he's already at 480hp!!

Vader should be at about ~400 rwhp / 400 rwtq on a dynojet, assuming 14.5 PSI .. but if we're talking crank (which we really shouldn't be.. LOL) it'll be up toward 500.

Anyone have experience with this kinda stuff at Calgary BMW?

Thanks!

If you bought the tire warranty, everything should be okay. If you didn't you might need a new tire or bring it to a place that'll fix it. RFT's always attract nails

Good Luck!

You have a slow leak in there somewhere.

Technically, you are not supposed to repair run-flats, and Calgary BMW will likely try to bill you for a new tire, unless you have tire warranty.

However, if you don't have tire warranty, you might be able to find a tire shop that is willing to plug the tire (this will take a bit of work!) .. so long as the leak is not in the sidewall/edge, it's safe to do.

You could throw a bit of tire slime in there to plug the leak, but that's not really an ideal long-term fix, and it might throw off the balance.

Edit -- just saw your post to say you have warranty .. so you're good to go!

I knew it! Not even 2 full weeks and I need a new tire... Happens every time!

I did get the tire warranty. Do you know how long it takes to replace the tire?

Hopefully you can just drive in and get it done right away.

The actual process is very quick, it just depends if they have somebody available to do it!

good thing you bought the warranty couturegirl! i've had so many nails in my tires recently (not just in the beemer but in all of our cars) and its hella annoying! so much construction goin on in the south! worst experience so far was 3 nails in 1 tire!!

you might wanna give them a call and make sure they have ur tire in stock....if they do as bigup said you should be able to just drive in and have them put a new one on which shouldn't take more then half n hour
