Short of becoming pregnant upon one's very first estrus cycle, how does a woman miss her "monthly friend" three to six times and not realize, not at least consider, that she might be pregnant and therefore go to a doctor to find out why here "friend" hasn't shown up for the past three to six months?

I know we men don't mense on a regular basis, but we do other things on a regular basis and if any of those recurring events didn't occur for three to six week, forget months, we'd be seeing a doctor. It's that simple. It's not about the event itself, but rather that it's something that happens regularly and the break in the regularity is what would raise questions in one's mind.

Some women have period kind of bleeding through out the pregnancy, and also being over or underweight messes with our systems heavily.

Many things has to go right but that is completely possible. One of my friends had a vasectomy after their third kid, and they had a mild crises after the wife made a positive test 5 months later at the week 8. Even after having been through it three times, because it was not supposed to possible, she overlooked all symptoms.

You know, if your friend's wife got pregnant five months after your friend's vasectomy, there's a very straightforward explanation for how that sort of thing might happen.

Like Anna said, not every woman gets a period monthly. One month it will be 30 days between my periods and the next period won't come until 9 weeks later. It's been this way since I was 13. I never know when my next one will be, if it will come next month or in 3 months. You don't have to menstruate every single month and my body figured that out. A lot of women are on birth control pills that only gives them a period 4 times a year. My body can do that without being on a pill so that why it took me so long to realize I was even pregnant.

Most women get their first ultrasound at 7 weeks and see a little bean. My very first ultrasound I got to see an actual human looking baby on the screen

I actually am very grateful for this thread. Because of reading this, I remembered why I truly should not have babies again.
