Thanks! That's a very fair price. My local Indy shops wanted 2k+.. and there was no way I was paying that. Removal was very straightforward, maybe 5 hours working by myself.
Pardon my ignorance but what is a RMS replacement?
Rear main seal. Which is a crankshaft oil seal behind the flywheel/flex plate. 95% of the work involves removing the transmission.

Oh ok, I know what that is. I just didn't associate the abbreviation with it. LOL But man, that is quite an undertaking to change that seal. I would take advantage and change everything that could be considered a maintenance item on that transmission, now that it's off the car.

Right on, I wasn't sure lol. I bought the car as a little project and I do plan to change the fluid and pan. Mechatronic sleeve isn't leaking and the guibo joint looks good!

The battery has been dying a slow death and I replaced it today with an Autozone battery for $169. It has 900 CCA and 1000 CA and a five year warranty. When I returned home, I downloaded Carly for $44.99 and registered the battery.

Sound deadening only front doors, I applied sound deadening material inside door and also on back of door covers, so far I like the way mid speakers sounds, more will be applied later.

Cleaned the Vanos solenoids. Waste of time because they were already as clean as could be.

I did not do this today but on the weekend of December 1st I changed my water pump, thermostat, the U shaped hose that runs from the thermostat to the pump and the rubber hose running from the hard pipe to the water pump inlet. I also changed my oil filter housing gasket and oil cooler to housing gasket, I also had to change the coolant line that runs from the front of the head to the thermostat. Almost 1000$ in parts alone.... FML!!!

While I had all this stuff out of the way I decided to power wash the whole front end of the motor since it was covered in grime!

Nice, funnily enough im having that same work done at my local BMW right now and I power washed my engine not bay not long ago.

So much oil and gunk on the underbody plastic cover thing.

I used a metro vac to blast it dry and left it over night, then let it idle to heat up.

Looks a lot better after a clean thats for sure.

Same here, I removed the belly pan and the metal plate and cleaned the shit out of them and then I spayed the engine area. I had my car in my garage so I ran two heaters to help dry the water away and the next day I let the car idle for a good 40 minutes to heat up and make sure I had zero leaks.

Start button flaking (LCI), so removed, took apart, sanded and sprayed with black gloss. Very easy job. Wish I'd done it sooner.

Installed some new kidney grills. I'm much happier with this set over my last ones. The black kidneys ECS sells with the slanted fins just didn't look right.
