I ordered 2 more of those Zin ports from Terra d Oro on Monday morning and they are already here. I'm finding this to be quite pleasant!!

If I just drink out of the little Crystal d'arque glasses, I can't get drunk, right?

Enjoyed our next to last bottle of 2013 Silver Oak Napa with grilled Churrasco. It has definitely gotten better over time but not necessarily worth storing for years and years.

Oooh that’s a good one. Keep an eye out for Constellation Brand wine sale. Could get a case of Silver Oak cab for $25 or so a bottle.

I didn’t realize Constellation owned Silver Oak. I’d take as many bottles as I could for $25.

I’ve always referred to Silver Oak as expense account wine. It’s solid, consistent and a well known brand, expensive but not crushingly so. But also nothing out of this world to collect.

Lol. Normally I agree but sometimes I want a glass and the wife doesn’t or vice versa.

What is a good budget wine for a broke college kid trying to get laid?

Like sub $30?

I usually just buy whatever Pinot is on sale at Publix. I'm sure it's a sin, but also really like Lambrusco. What do 30 year olds drink though?

Try Educated Guess, Decoy, or 19 Crimes. All decent.

Edit to add La Crema Pinot, if you are set on a Pinot...

If you like a thick petite syrah, this is a must try. Excellent stuff here.

Current less expensive, light drinking: Jolie Laide or Sandlands

Otherwise into a lot of Beaujolais Crus (Morgon, Fleurie, etc) lately.

Getting into a pricier range: Ashes x Diamonds Cab Franc or Pierre-Yves Colin Morey whites

Nickel & Nickel - Rock Cairn
Plump Jack
Darioush
Schafer One point Five

All are great cabs. I used to work as a bar manager in an upscale bar and had the chance to drink a lot of great wines for free. I miss those days for that.

Never tasted the value/draw in Joseph Phelps - Insignia or Opus One but some people thought it was amazing.
