We did ED and are on (off) Freedom....talked to my CA on Friday and said the work order for the car has not even been processed by the VPC. Slowwww going.

No she said if the shipping doesn't get held up I can pick her up Monday night. I don't have any dealer add-ons except tint and mats. The OC still says "At VPC," though.

Oh even better then for Monday night!

Thanks for letting me know about the OC.

Not sure why BMW NA goes through all the effort to make this weak little extension of their tracking system for their over-obsessive customers, but then it's designed to not update in real-time (or at least every 30 min/hour...) I wonder who made that decision.

Even though OC sucks it still pretty cool. Do you know of any other car companies that have something like OC? Can' t think of any.

great news... my car is at the dealer my CA just called me and said he saw it coming off the truck. Delivery is 12:30 Monday afternoon. OC still shows at VPC so dont worry about that guys are cars are close to being home!!!

The OC needs to be perfected better, it really creates more calls to your CA and to the 800#. Seems the reps at the 800# could input updated info into the OC while waiting for calls. The OC says In Route for me not even to VPC, CA confirmed w/ me today that car will be at dealer Mon or Tues. The OC is not consistent for all owners.

Oh I agree, it's awesome. Wasn't really complaining, I'm just curious why they put forth all the effort to get the system in place when in a software/programming/coding sense, it realistically shouldn't be too heavy of an obstacle to have updates every 30-60 min rather than 3-5 days (especially if the "real" DCSNet tracking system is real-time or close to it) I can't think of why that is. If it was in real time, with time stamps and a nice pretty layout, not some POS flash application that looks/performs horridly, it would save alot of annoying/wasteful calls to the 800 number and to the CA.

No need for manual labor... When they scan the VIN before entering the paintshop, for example, the entry is submitted to the internal system. Having someone do that would just be silly, when you could program a database of all the current vehicle production information to update a couple of webservers every 30-60 mins.

i agree with that 100%...it wouldent take that much effort to make that system one of the best customer service tools BMW has.

It is getting harder and harder to fall asleep. This may lead to a sleeping pill addiction soon if I don't take delivery early this week.

BTW, my CA took vacation last week (just like I did so I can't really criticize the decision.) So, he hasn't given me a day and time yet. Looking forward to our conversation tomorrow. Hopefully.... good news.

Oh, and I'm loving the iPhone. Just wish AT&T had a faster network; though, when a wireless signal is available it doesn't matter... The web browser and interface are well executed and a model for all wireless Internet devices. The phone is cool too. Synced with my Outlook addresses and calendar with no issues.

Actually, not sure if you know, but it is not AT&T causing the speed issue. You can argue that their 3G network is slower than some competitors' best networks but Apple (or at least the iPhone) deserves the blame here. The iPhone is not 3G

and must use the EDGE network

from AT&T. There are plenty of phones using the 3G for AT&T and I have used it all around the world with no major issues and decent speed.

I think the iPhone looks interesting, but its current lack of smooth corporate email "push" support and no 3G keeps me away.

Sounds like you like it otherwise and they are at least on the right track. I can not expect them to be perfect to start so hopefully future models will go 3G.

With their good browser and other internet apps, it will surely benefit from 3G. I wonder if there was a tech issue with going 3G for iPhone?

Okay I'll blame Steve Jobs about the iPhone performance...that's enough of the iPhone discussion. Let's get back to the real issue -- our cars!!!

So, I drove to the dealership today just to see if my car was around anywhere. And lo and behold I peek inside the dealership showroom and there is a beautiful Crimson Red 335i convertible with a Sold sign, but...with beige leather! So, it wasn't mine (I hope...lol!) So, not sure if mine has arrived yet or not.

Hope to find out tomorrow.

Oh man, you must have been all jittery seeing it and then looking closer to find out if it was indeed yours or not... There was a montego blue coupe with sport rims sitting under a jack in the service area this weekend at my dealer. took a closer look and it was a dealer car with saddle

But.. I'm confident that it'll arrive tomorrow or Tuesday. BMW's internal system says an estimated delivery date of 7/10, and my CA said 7/9... Sooo yeah, I dunno... Sleeping tonight may be slightly difficult.

This past Fri my CA told me he checked the internal system and says mine is estimated delivery date of 7/08 at my dealer and said usually that is a generous date so he said plan on it being Mon (tomorrow)

My car must have been on the same truck! I received a message from my CA Saturday afternoon as well. My car was delivered at the dealership Saturday late afternoon. I stopped by the dealership yesterday evening and saw her. I'm very pleased with my color combo. I'll pick her up Tuesday afternoon since I can't escape work in time today. :mad:

BTW, status on OC still is at VPC for me as well.
