Wife and I just got back from our drive. Went 9 all the way to Santa Cruz, drove through town, donuts and coffee, jumped on 1, rode that all the way up to HMB Brewery, had a late lunch then jumped on 1 north to 280 home. We hit about an hour of traffic due to everyone leaving Mavericks and it was an hour wait at HMB Brewery so actual drive time for the trip was bout 3 1/2 hours. We left the house around 12:30 and got home around 7.

I'm down for other suggestions since I really dont leave the Bay Area.

You have everything you need for it or are you missing something?

Android Flashing app that allows you to flash tunes and backend flashes to your car w/o Cobb or BT cable. I dont think its quite as robust as a BT cable but it gets the job done.

Hopefully I'll be doing my PUMP flash next weekend using MHD so I can but a little more E85 and go ahead and wear out my stock LPFP to give me an excuse to upgrade. I just need to grow a pair and do it but the whole battery charger thing is very off putting for me since I am the definition of Murphy's law

speaking of cables. I see there are so many cables for coding and diagnostics. I see cables ranging in price from $9.00 up to $100.00 is there a difference and if so what cable should I get for the coding and diagnostic. I looked through the coding forum but couldn't find an answer.

I have K+DCAN cable from here - http:// b i m m e r s o f t wa r e . com/cables and it was only $40 but if you're going to be using MHD I would suggest getting the OTG along with the DCAN which is only $5 more. I tried a couple Amazon cables but got burned on them. They worked for the E46 but not my E90

With those cables I've been able to code Carly, Aplina TCU flash, and tested but not done the BB Pump flash via MHD, again, I just need to grow a pair and do it.

I have a Carly Bluetooth adapter if youre interested, was just about to post it for sale for $20

^^^^ This does happened, not to me and I've used it probably 20 times, but it DOES happen.

LMK if you still want it, I'm in Cupertino near the Apple campus but can meet with anyone that wants it. Keep in mind you still have to buy the Carly App to use this.

Thanks man. I would love to jump into a 335i, but I'm afraid that maintenance would be even worse than my 330i recently.

I'm pretty set on getting a 2016 MK7 GTI. So staying German/Euro

Are there any meets in the Roseville/Sacramento area? Have been out of the car scene for a while, but interested in checking out a few decent meets.

Anyone have a good shop for waterpump/tstat replacement in the lower Peninsula / N. South Bay? Couple spots quoting ~1,300 right now.
