Sorry it took so long and a hassle to get it listed! I hope the sale goes well considering the pricing right now.

As for going back to stock, let us know what you plan on selling. I am sure we can help out

I cannot speak for donut_boi, but they turned down a listing from me a couple of years back for a 323it. High miles and I requested a reserve, though they gave no reason other than "not a good fit".

I just sold through BaT an old Ducati. I did not go with a reserve and they accepted it right away. The bike had to go and I saw no point worrying about a couple thousand dollars either way. I had a number in mind, but the auction went way beyond it.

My strategy going forward with them will be to go with no reserve. I really enjoyed the experience and I know the market speaks with that approach.

Yeah, no reserve really is the way to go on BaT in my opinion. BaT really only accepts cars at a pretty low reserve most times, so it only makes sense just to make it more enticing and go no reserve.

The reason they go with no reserve is because it makes their results look better, and it also ensures they are getting paid either way. I've been in contact with them in regards to my M3 and listing it there, and I told them I wanted to list with a reserve. This was a year or so ago at the beginning of COVID. They seemed open to the idea of a reserve, but I haven't been in touch about listing it since then.

What if you list with no reserve, despite wanting a reserve, your car sells for less than you wanted and you don’t give up the car?

Is that decision to let it go any easier with the new muscle of the wagon in the fleet? I wanna go for a ride in it before it goes!

Not sure, I imagine part of the listing agreement details what sort of rules you're held to.

It's definitely playing a part. As for riding in it, absolutely. Where in FL are you again?

It will probably be cheaper to import an Msport at some point.

So, uh, which one of you intrepid rogues are going to take this fixer upper on? Its not an E91, but its a manual wagon and there's not a whole ton of these floating around.

Dang, I can't drive until 10/25 or I would head up there an hour and take a look. I grabbed the HD images. Looks like it needs a hood and bumper, and some of the latch mechanism needs work. With those miles, probably needs all of the typical leaks addressed, suspension rebuild, and maybe the wiring loom for the rear hatch. I don't think it has spent a single day in a garage, so may need some extensive paint work and buffed headlights to make it pretty again.

Something like that happened on Cars & Bids. They posted this "Unfortunately, the seller of this M3 has made clear that they will not be following through with this sale, and that they have sold the car outside of Cars & Bids. This is in direct violation of our Terms of Use and of our community expectations. As a result, we have cancelled this auction, and have immediately banned the seller from any future participation in the Cars & Bids community. We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your understanding."

I figured that was the most they could do. I’m sure that seller could hop back on cars and bids with a different user name and title under a relatives name and sell there again.

Thanks everyone, as everyone stated, I was going back and forth with them in regards to how to list the car, as is or stock then to have or not have a reserve, if with reserve then how much. With the slow response via email it took a bit of time. Now in the process of getting it ready for photo shoot then getting the write up done which they say will take at least 4 weeks before it goes live. Will have a photoshoot in two weeks.

As far as mods on the car available for sale, once I have a list of parts I’ll post up what I don’t want to hoard lol, some of the parts are hard to obtain and not even available purchased new. I’ll keep y’all posted

Can someone help find a manual wagon. Not to worried about trim as it will be a daily. Lci is preferred but not required. I also do not care about color or interior color. Mostly just condition. Thanks in advanced.

I can't imagine how anemic a heavy all wheel drive 5 series with an N52 is to drive? Not a powerful highway cruiser, not a "sportswagon" How much does that car weigh, 4200 lbs?

A manual 535 is a different car I suppose, and I've never been a fan of that 5 series styling from this generation.

There is one of these on Cars and bids now, wonder how it will do, but this is the E91 thread so back on to the 3 series wagons

We bought a 2009 e60 N52 RWD AT when it was about six months old and still have it. We also have an '09 e91 N52 RWD AT. Both cars require you to wring them out if you are in any kind of hurry. Just no real torque there at all (200 ft.lbs). I don't know the weight of the e61 x-drive, but you're probably close. All that said, I would expect it to be much easier to drive with the MT.
