How does this "flash" actually work? "Flash" to me denotes a reprogram of the DME and not a piggyback. Not sure I want some shop doing that.

is it $100 or cheaper?

$30 if you do it yourself.

You are correct, this is not a piggy back. It is a flash tune designed specifically for your individual car.

With the referral is $100 (I believe it's $125 w/o). Yeah, you can say you were referred on some BMW forum, and he'd still give it to you

As far as which finish, it depends what kind of look you're going for. I went with matte. Here's a pic of mine with it.

wait huh? you mean for the software update? the flash is undetectable to dealers unless they somehow erase it, in which case you just go back and get reflashed... they save your map data for you.

I personally can't do that as I have a server migration the 17th-19th at a client unless I find a new job before then. Are they not open on the weekends?

no they are but Tony said he's gonna be in NJ doing some work the week after that so I decided to jump on it early.

It is undetectable but if they take your car out for a drive....i would feel better flashing it back to stock before going in there. I have to make an appt to get my lights fixed and two appts for the oil cooler.

Ahh, I see. Wonder if he needs all three people in at the same time, or just the commitment? I could even put a deposit down early if that would help. I am waiting on that refund but then I am set.

I am 100% in now as well, just need to find out if we all have to go at the same time or if he just wants three sales minimum.

If you do this, let me know. Maybe we can go together and find one more person to get the GB. Need the oil cooler installed first then will probably get an intake as well

You can get the stage 2 without the oil filter if you are planning on getting it done later, just don't goose it and over heat the car. But if you are worried about them re-flashing or something during the oil cooler install then I understand.
