Uh..175k mile car with no history. Your purchase price is in this thread I'm pretty sure as well. Good buy on the copart auction...I guess nothing was wrong with it.

Were you expecting $50k for a nearly 200k mile car? Get out of here.

You bought it for $6,500, put a under grand in maintenance, and flip for more than double what you paid. What the hell are you complaining about?

This thread has turned into a flippers paradise over the past year or two. What a shame.

…. there are some great success stories here too though. Since acquiring this 2009 AT, RWD M-Sport, I’ve:
  • Manual transmission swap
  • 3 stage intake manifold
  • Active Autowerke headers
  • Active Autowerke tune
  • Bilstein B8 shocks/struts
  • Full BimmerTech Studio Sound upgrade (amp, 10 speakers)
  • BimmerTech MMI back up camera retrofit
  • Oil pan gasket
  • Oil filer housing gasket
  • Drive belt replace
  • New radiator, upper hose and fluid
  • Wash, carnauba wax, SONAX spray on paint sealer (3 times since Oct, 2019)
  • Replaced steering wheel trim (OEM M Sport)
  • Replace rear wiper (OEM)
  • Replace trunk latch (OEM)
  • Replace brake light bulbs
  • Replace driver cup holder (Amazon knockoff)
  • Oil changes
  • Spark plugs
  • Clean VANOS solenoids
  • New tires (4) Hankook Ventus S1 Nobel non run flat
  • Brake fluid flush
  • Front/rear brakes: ESC slotted/drilled rotors, Hawk ceramic front, Akebono ceramic rear
  • SONAX leather conditioner
  • SONAX rubber protectant on door/trunk/engine sills
  • SONAX headlight polish/restore of headlights and fog lights
  • 303 Protectant on dash/interior plastic and vinyl
  • Matte black kidney grills (China knockoffs)
  • Paint front lower grills, matte black
  • Color match side markers (Mod Bargains)
  • Wrap Burl Walnut trim, matte black vinyl (MetroRestyling)
  • Gloss black mirror covers (China knockoffs)
  • Restored headlights (3M drill kit)
  • ECS spacers, 10mm rear

I've already overspent any flip possibilities, and have plenty more items on the list!

Coming from the person who thought a 2009 E91 sport 6 spd with 86k was only worth 10k, had no interest in any work done on the car, seeing any pictures or entering into any sort of conversation.

Too many 'car hipsters' salivating over spec/color transmission has led to infestation of parasitical traders looking to turn quick money on what is an enthusiast car.

I saw pictures of your car and the maintenance you told me about. I understood what you would like for your car, it’s a great car, low miles, nice options. I’m looking to spend around there that’s why i offered it. Didn’t mean to offend you brother

Yeah. Or about $6K for a shop to do it,... in the Atlanta area.

PasionM estimated about $5k parts and labor to complete the swap. If you win the auction, I'll drop it off at his shop so he can get started for you

Thanks, everyone. Reasonable cost given the difference in prices today between manuals and automatics. Any technical challenges or other risks I should consider before pursuing the auto to manual swap?
