No pets. But the reviews say it works effectively for pets. It generally runs a tad over an hour before returning to charging dock. I emptied my bin after the second hour run and it had room to spare. If you have shedding pets, you may have to empty it more.

So it has to be emptied several times a day even without pets? Seems like a lot. Or was it just because it is new and once it is maintaining every day, it should be less? (This is the one hesitation I have with these.)

How big is the house? Is it isolated to one room? Ours would just get lost and die under the bed or table or who knows where it would jam itself up. We do have pets and they shed a lot of hair so something like this that works would be great.

So my initial use is very positive! After connecting it to my WiFi and downloading the app, it updated the firmware, and fully charged, it went about it's cleaning. I have a very shaggy rug in our Family Room that it simply went up about an inch and then backed up without getting stuck. I was very happy about this. It did that around the entire rug, sucking up loose fibers too. It runs about an hour before needing to return to base to recharge. It will then resume right where it left off!
FYI, I reached out to cust serv for a few questions: The unit needs to make "several initial runs" before it will completely map out your home. In my case it did 4 cycles downstairs @ 2,400 sq/ft and upstairs is 1,400 sq/ft.
The cleaning/suction is impressive. Very simple to empty out the cleaning bin.
What I really like is that it will go perfectly under our sofa and love seat to grab all of those annoying dust bunnies that build up weekly. It also navigates around our bar stools, kitchen chairs/tables quite effectively.

It will get regular use no doubt. It can be programmed to run a schedule or from my phone anywhere.
Thanks for the write-up!! I need to look into this.

Not necessarily. This would really depend upon the degree of dirt, hair etc in your home. I am quite pleased I emptied it once after the entire first floor. And I guarantee, that was due to the unrelenting dust attracted under couches and our entertainment center (TV, receiver, speakers and tons of cables).
Again. I don't hesitate to recommend. Especially if you don't want to sweep regularly and hate dust buildup. Or have pets.

Covered this above: downstairs @ 2,400 sq/ft and upstairs is 1,400 sq/ft

Trust me, the laser guiding system is more intuitive than you imagine. It will not attempt to fall down stairs. There are also magnetic in 1in wide magnetic strips you can place down wherever you don't want it to go.
I actually recorded it in action. I will get around to uploading it on YouTube and link here.

Prime tenderloin from Costco. Gonna try it because the stuff I get from Allen Brothers is getting out of control expensive.

Yeah I know. Could have probably waited and got it for 1200 range couple years. I have a lot of watches in the 1-3k range but generally get them at lot better deal after been around a while or used market.

To me ~$2k doesn't seem over the top for such a nice watch.

I got a decent deal about 350 off retail but it does seem high priced to me compared to other things I've purchased for less with greater pedigree.
