When I bought my car I actually got it from the dealers lot. But when I found the car I wanted and paid the deposit, I couldn't take the car with me because I was leaving to Finland for 2 weeks the next day and did not have all my money in the US bank account yet. So paid the deposit and left the car there, travelled to Finland and was freaking out the whole 2 weeks of

* would the car actually be there when I go back or will they sell it to someone else in the meanwhile
* will I be able to get insurance, which I need before picking up the car, because I didn't have a US drivers license
* will I be able to wire my money to US without problems
* and a thousand other things

So got back to US on Sunday evening, Monday took care of the insurance and Tuesday evening picked up the car. I think I didn't sleep more than a few hours Monday-Tuesday and could not work at all on Tuesday. Driving home from the dealership (50 miles) was the best trip I have ever taken, I literally smiled the whole way home. I think I actually shed a few tears of joy too This is my first car ever and could not have made a better choice!

No, sitting on my couch in my living room, alone... Wasn't really keen on the idea of going somewhere alone so just decided to chill at home this week. Have 4 more weeks of vacation this year, probably will do something more fun in one of those weeks

my first car ever was... well, I won't count my parent's 78 GMC van, AKA the APC of Doom...

I have to say it was a 69 camaro I bought from my uncle, it was nice, I have to scan some pics of it... this was back in 1988...

My dad is excited too.. he had an 86 325es white with a red interior, he is looking forward to me bringing it around..

I can hardly think of anything else.. so I spend time here with all the other addicts now..

about the only place I have alone is the bathroom or in my office at work, and the calls never stop in the office..

Yeah well I am from Finland, never really needed a car there. Or afforded one, for that matter. My bimmer is worth at least 110.000 dollars there. And gas is 10 dollars a gallon. Back there I lived walking distance from downtown and from my office, if I didn't wanna walk I could take the local bus (about 60 bucks a month for unlimited use) or ride my bike so no reason to own a car.

The only time when a car would have been handy was when I visited my parents, they live 100 miles away and using public transport it takes almost 5 hours to go there, where as only 2 hours with a car. But my brother lives close to me and he has a car, so I just went with him when ever I went to see my parents.
