Hi Gents, I'm new on here - just bought a 2010 LCI 325i SE and have joined looking for discreet mod inspiration. Starting with a drop and perhaps spacers. Any recommendations appreciated.

Welcome aboard Jay
Lots of helpful peeps in DIY section also has most stuff covered for mods and repairs
For a drop you can fit H&R lowering springs
To get your wheels to sit flush, you really need to measure the distance between the side wall of the tire and the fender
Instructions on how to measure this can be found on the internet

Generally a 10 mm spacer up front and 5 mm on the rears will get you close, depending on the size of the tires you are running 235s up front and 265s on the back are common
If you are looking for mod ideas, ive just about done them all
Feel free to read my build thread, just don't get the mod bug like it did is a very costly habit lol

Thanks Socket! I'm sure the bug will get me no matter what so I'll go with it. Your car looks awesome btw.
Looking at some H&R track+ spacers I think as they look like a quality outfit. Also read the Eibach pro kit rides a bit softer than the H&R springs as they are progressive - is this true do you know? Awful roads down here in deepest darkest England so need all the cushioning I can get!

Haha the mod bug is strong in you
I think both kits are pretty similar in terms of ride, but track H&R will be harsher then H&R sports.
Tbh if you are going with lowering springs you would be best to replace your shocks with a shorter shock like Koni yellows because you will have a long stock shock paired up with a shorter lowering spring and I found they kept bottoming out. Another option is to go with a coil over set up which will allow you to raise and lower the car as desired. Personally I switched from a H&R/Koni combo to KW3 coil over kit and have been very happy with the results. Coil overs also allow you to set the softness of the ride as well. Good luck bro

Cheers Socket - you seem to know your way about these motors pretty well. Do you mind if I were to DM occasionally to run something by you - as in you thoughts with regards to whether things are compatible or will fit etc?
Thanks again for your input.

What's everyones opinion on painting the bumper insert body color or leaving it black same as diffusor?

Currently i have a m rear bumper with the insert that is not painted body color. Such as this:

I'm getting a new diffuser and wondering if I should paint the insert piece grey as the body color.

I'd say paint it. I had it both ways and prefer the painted look. It just Looks way cleaner

That's what I'm leaning towards. It also give the diffuser more of an aggressive look.

It definitely does give it a bit of a more cleaner aggressive look. It also flows better with the shape of the bumper.
