Yes, same here. Will reach 100 today and is just going to get hotter.

Already looking forward to cool 60s and 70s in the fall.

F'ing hot. 106. The "feels like" temp is 113 with the humidity factored in. The thermometer in the shade on the deck says 124. Now Seattle City Light is saying the power won't be back on till 6:00 PM. Sucks.

You know it hot when I got in the Hot Tub @ 105, 20 minutes of High Jet (not heating) and its 104 when you get out.

Normally in the Winter it would be down to 102 & 103 in normal summer temperature.

My friend in Seattle, who's lived there for nearly 20 years says she's never seen it this hot. And what's worse, she says many residents there don't have AC in their homes because of the generally milder temperatures. Is this true? I can't comprehend sleeping above 75 degrees at the most.

True. I lived in Seattle from 1977 to 1996. Then again from 2010 till now. Never seen a summer like this in Seattle. Ever. We usually have what we call "Junuary" which is 50 degrees and raining all June. Common saying in Seattle is that summer starts on the 5th of July.

Only 40% of Seattle homes have AC.

I believe that 40% number includes all the single room AC units. I would be surprised if over 10% have whole house AC.

It was upper 70's to mid-80's in South Carolina yesterday, with a few sprinkles and a two-minute tropical downpour in the afternoon.

Back in New Yorkistan today, and the overnight low didn't drop below 74F, with today's high forecast to be 95F.

When we left home on Saturday morning, I stupidly turned the central air off to save energy. After receiving home heat wave alerts from the NWS, I checked our house temperatures and they were in the upper 80's indoors early yesterday morning! I turned the central AC on remotely, and even so it was still only down to 76F when we arrived home after dark. Thankfully, it did get down to my preferred 70F overnight.....
