lol im doing tremblant with traction on (well, dsc)...can i turn it off? probably, but still terrified. won't be changing to Rcomps anytime soon. max out the skill...then get the mods. only reason i got my brakes is cuz i melted my stock ones
thats probably the number of times I'm going to track this year lolll

And no, I'm not going to track in my 328 if i have a M3....Hopefully i'll get rid of the 328 before summer. Im just going to take it easy and have fun, not gonna go all out and i don't give a shit about how many cars pass me. You guys are talking like i haven't driven or haven't driven a 400hp car before lol

haha ya keep the dsc on, don't want anything to happen lol...ya of course, but you did good cuz it would've been a waste if you went back to stock brakes.

Anyways, we'll see how it goes!

Michelins

Guys would anyone happen to have a couple of Michelin Pilot Alpins tires in 225/40/18 that they would want to sell?

IMO: I would just swap the existing axle back for a slightly louder one to suit your taste. Just beware, the gt2 is insanely loud, Ive ridden in an m3 with the gt2(titanium) exhaust..to much drone, get the regular gt.
I saw those but I don't want to cut anything, plus if I want to go back to stock I have to weld the pipe I cut back, clamping wont do.

Ya i was thinking either gt or gt2 but I don't think I'll swap the axle back anymore cuz catless x-pipe with my bastuck exhaust is probably going to quieter than the GT...we'll see, I'm not in a rush haha

For an "i", front tires can be different from the rear tires but for "xi" yes, they all have to be the same tires.

Don't take it as patronising bro ... but if you haven't driven a 400hp (RWD) car on the track then you haven't driven a 400hp car.

Speaking from experience, having driven a 400hp car on the track..... besides the fact that everything is accelerated 10x, it's also the fact that there is less room for error (mash the throttle on the way out of a corner? yeah those 400 horses are really going to show you who's boss). so, be careful. there are a number of people here who will tell you that it's serious.

also people who spin and crash into stuff stop sessions so people have to stop so people waste time and money. NO LIKE SELFISH PEOPLE.

We are not saying this will happen to you. We have seen others do it and we just want to warn you of the possibilities.

This passtime is expensive enough already. If you start off with a modified car, your total cost go up much faster...

This is what you say now but it won't be long before it is pedal to the floor and this is where it gets tricky for newbies.

A very good friend of mine who was a BMW instructor stopped instructing after some hot head backed his E46 M3 into a wall at over 100km/h. My friend warned him many times but the student wasn't listening, the car snapped under him and bam into the wall.

I think instructing is a terrible (unpaid) job. I could never do it. I have trouble enough knowing what *I* will do next, worse yet some random dude I don't know at 150 km/h....

A friend instructor for Bimmershop had a guy in a Vette with slicks last season. First year with the car. Lost it out of the bridge at LCMT and whacked the wall. Wrecked his wrist. Was lucky. Could have been worse.

Being an instructor is a rough racket for free track time.

From what I can gather from the press clips, its supposed to affect both steering effort and suspension more than the standard Sport button would.

Your sister is indeed a cool person for wanting a Cayman.

The forever question for me is why a Cayman rather than a 911.

The only version of the Cayman that would make me not answer "no idea/ would be the "R" but it doesn't exist yet.

I know that the C has a better balance than the 911, but it would be very hard for me to choose the C over a GT3....Discuss.......

Better balanced, lighter, perfect! The only reason Porsche is limiting the engine power to the C is that they know if increased power, the 911 would only exists thanks to diehards ....

Turbo kits exists, as well as bigger engine swaps have proven the Cayman to be superior to the GT3s!

If you have to mod it to make it good, just buy the one that's already good enough (gt3)

On another note I pushed the sports button today on my car - quite a difference in steering feel. I am a happy camper. There is still a slight faux feeling , since the steering is not mechanical anymore, but on Sport the heft is back the way I like it. Happy camper now.
