Hey swapping out my t stat today and had to remove radiator fan and inter cooler.
T start swapped out was putting everything back together but oh my it didn't want to cooperate and I just quit for tonight. Will try again tomorrow. But the problem is I guess it's only on 335is there is coolant line that runs from the passenger to driver side. Anyone removed their fan and noticed this and any tips or how did you re-installed? Just to remove the fan I had to pull the inter cooler and the cold side pipe but now I just don't see how to make it all fit at once. Like I would need to install the rad without inter cooler and then push the coolant pipe out the way, then let it hang there midway until I can fit my intercooler and reinstall the pipe. Then push the rad down. Like this doesn't make sense and the TIS doesn't say anything aout the coolant lines Last edited by TheMidnightNarwhal; 02-09-2019 at 07:26 PM.. |

I've pulled the fan right out the top when doing the front inlet. It takes a bit of finessing and you need to unbolt a small fluid radiator on the bottom (PS fluid? I forget) but there was no need to remove the IC. As far as the radiator, I haven't needed to do this yet but I would imagine once the fan is out the rad should be able to slide out with the shroud out of the way.

But you didn't have any issues with the coolant line that goes across? Here is the one I'm talking about. Here is picture of the coolant line I'm talking about causing an issue on the driver side. See in the red square? It won't clear the fan shroud plastic without being pushed back, but to push it back the cold side intercooler pipe needs to not be there... also as you can see there was clips on 3 spots for the coolant hose it was such a pain. I'm surprised I can't find any more info on these? Also thanks so much for the help really appreciate it, I need the car put back together by tomorrow night preferably... worst case I guess I can move it out of the garage without the fan haha |

I'll try again tomorrow I guess. Just that there was not way to push that hose out to clear the plastic maybe I'll try other angles... and pushing those clips back in the shroud is probably gonna be such a pain. |

To add to this I'm trying to find a diagram of the hose in question in REALOEM but I can't even find it.
Plus yeah if I push hard enough the hose might clear the plastic shround but no way in hell it's gonna clear the rubber mount for the lower charge pipe from the looks of it? Last edited by TheMidnightNarwhal; 02-09-2019 at 07:46 PM.. |

When I did my t-stat I also replaced the water pump. Never had to fiddle with the fan or IC. I used a step by step video on youtube that was super helpful. Hardest part was wrestling the water pump back (great tricep/chest workout) on while sliding the bolts through and getting the top water pump bolt into place.

But man I'm looking at this again and I still dont see how il be able to fit it back. It's gonna have to clear the ruvber IC pipe mount.. EDIT: Okay finally got it to fit. What I did was uncouple the top side of the pipe so that way I could push it back a bit which allowed the shroud to clear the pipe. Then was the part to past the rubber shroud mount that mounts to IC pipe, that was more of a pain but I noticed if you just press hard on it easily folds so it did so. Pretty happy how it turned out. Just gotta fix the clips altough I think the pipe still won't fall into the fan or belts with the play it has. Last edited by TheMidnightNarwhal; 02-10-2019 at 03:47 PM.. |

275 is a lot of tire for a 9" wheel, but yeah it can be done.

I've run 275's out back ever since I blew off the RF's. Yokohama Advan 08's and Nitto NT 05's didn't rub, even with 10mm spacer. My PS4's rub a bit at the fender/bumper junction with a 5mm spacer that I have to use because of my BBK.

Gotcha, my rears are going to need replacements soon. I finally get to get rid of the runflats . So I am debating between 265 or 275 size for the rears.

Does anyone know how to replace the muffler tips on the 335is? Do I need to cut them, or they'll come off with a hammer?
I can't tell whether it's a weld or a tight fit just by looking at them. |
