COBB AccessPort and DS Manual Mode for Autocross and track
I couldn't get a satisfactory answer anywhere so I went straight to the source. Reposted from FB:
Q: I've looked all over the forums for the optimal setup for autocross/track days and haven't found an answer. I've got a stock 335 xDrive AT N54 with an AccessPORT 4.01 maps. Should I do stock or linear throttle? Before I got my AP, I used DS Manual mode. Should I stick with that or will it mess up the AP throttle maps? Thanks for your help! I love my AP! A: Stock versus Linear throttle really comes down to personal preference. Many people like the Linear throttle for auto-x and the track because it gives you more pedal modulation for precise input. You can use either transmission mode and they'll all work great with the AP and all of our maps. - Ian Thanks again Ian! |

You can, but it'd be better to run with a drop-in filter (K&N, aFe, MS) or DCIs (BMS, ETS, Vishnu). Both are less than $100, so it won't break the bank

I agree with Benzy, an intake would help. I'd personally go with drop in for now. I don't like DCIs...

Why not? Besides being a total hassle to clean, they've been a decent choice for a while.

That and the ability to request boost up to the limit of the MAP sensor, even for those of us at high elevation. Support for single turbos would be nice, too, since I think plenty of shops will jump on the hardware wagon once there's an independent software solution.

Live map changes taking affect instead of having to stop pull over and reflash. Repeat.

I have but I didn't notice any effect. Adjusting some of the other WGDC tables did help me hold boost better at high rpms, though. I'm still below target from 5500rpm and up, but not so badly as before. Has anyone else seen a difference on stock turbos using more than 57% WGDC?

Hey guys, I have some ATR dyno numbers to share. The car base lined at 280rwhp/300rwtq and made 404rwhp/460rwtq using my ATR map. 125whp/160wtq delta is pretty good. There is still some room up top in the map to pick up some HP.
