Hooked up demon eyes and also hooked up a dual port USB connection above the headliner using a tap on #7 fuse. Its better than a typical hardwire. Just sneak ANYTHING usb-powered straight up and out of the way. However i DID crack my windshield with a slight tug of the rearview mirror...you win some, you lose some!

1 - Valve cover gasket
2- oil separator replace 3 - Disa replace 4- oil filter gasket Need beer. Can afford it since this all costs a weekend of my life and 800 in parts vs like 5 grand at any Indy shop.

The dealership quoted you high prices? No surprise there. What's surprising is that you're still going there. The golden rule, as it's always been in German car ownership outside the warranty, is to learn to DIY or pay the price. No one here puts on run flats after they wear out, especially not dealer supplied OE rip-off units. That's crazy talk. You live near enough to NYC to know that the dealer there is going to bend you over harder than just about anywhere. And yes, the battery system has gotten more complicated but only about $15 more so if you know what you're doing. The $250 surcharge is a sucker tax for those that are rich (maybe uninformed enough?) enough or just want to be seen at their BMW dealer sipping a latte sitting on a leather sofa - that you pay dearly for. Most people are Quoted $600ish from their dealer for the OFHG, but your dealer seems especially intent on larger margins. I can't blame them. A new sucker is born every day and they're making a lot of money. Shame your pet-peeve is oil. Otherwise, that OFHG would cost you $36. Thanks for finally posting some facts to understand where your points lie. That last sentence - what are you trying to show? That the cost of the parts and labor is less? This "at a shop" do you mean the dealership or a different shop? I remember being quoted $1300 when the water pump and fan went on my E36 M3. Sounds like the same scenario, but reversed... not enough space not even for a stumpy filter
Other alternatives are a turbo guard (mesh holes are way to big to stop anything hitting the turbine) or a foam mushroom filter, but these arent great as the foam doesn't hold up well |

A few days ago but I replaced my serpentine belt and tensioner
It started to sound bad, so I replaced it the moment I got the time. Now it's all good and quiet again. |

replaced the rubber seals (top/sides & bottom) for the rear glass. Wasn't that hard to remove and install. Luckily, no leaks prior to, just old worn down seals.
